Somebody called him............"Deano". Omg, omg, omg

I know nothing about him but if he is what those comments say he is, then he is exactly what we've been missing. Even more than a CH.

Flashbacks to Monty when they said he couldn't pass. Next you'll be telling me that Frank Lampard thought Hammond was a great player...

Thanks Roy, of all the comments, if the one below if true, and will stop Port Vale, Bury and Oldham running straight through our midfield then I will be happy!

“Hammond is the enforcer. He breaks up the opposition play and lays it off to the ball players. He looks more comfortable in the premier league than he ever did in the championship. “

With him sitting & protecting the defence now it may free up our more creative players like Baxter to influence the game going forward...

but probably won't.

He seems exactly what we were looking for but as always with United im expecting him something to be wrong sonrwhere. Credit to the board though because you would have thought there will have been Championship interest in him

Sounds a bit like Nicky Marker.

I'd be more than happy with that.
I remember, under Spackman, Marker was always available to receive the ball from the keeper (whether the keeper has the ball in his hands or was about to take the goalkick) and then play the ball to the full backs

Having seen the way the opposition keep running through our midfield I think the absence of Doyle has been more of a problem than the back four. This might be just what we need, building from midfield rather than defence to allow all the creative players to do what they are good at.

You could either blame the loss of Doyle, or the inability of our other midfielders to do more than one task on the pitch.

I know, for a change, lets let him get a couple of games in before we start criticizing him eh......

Give over, he's over the hill, lacks pace and sometimes misplaces passes. Complete waste of money who's keeping quality like Coutts, Wallace and whoever else hasn't played for a couple of weeks out of the first team.

;)

Let's not forget that with the position they are in their fans will have quite high standards compared to us.

Worth signing him just to see Baxter on the bench, we've been crying out for this type of player will do a great job in div 3

My best mate is a foxes fan. He reckons Hammond was decent a few yrs ago but hasn't played much since start of last season. Still reckons he will be a cut above in league 1.

Good mate of mine, a Foxes fan, occasionally joins me at the Lane. His view on Hammond.

"He's a very good player. Think you'll be impressed with him. As a premier league holding midfielder he was not out of his depth. He will do well, am sure of that."

A year ago today, we signed this legend
