Was with Adkins at Scunny. Found gems such as Hooper, Sharp etc. Blades have been talking to Scunny today about a compensation package for Lee. Head scout.

Scunny took quite a few Premier League youngsters on loan.
No idea how much he had an input to those.

Definitely been an are of weakness at the club for a while.

After the car crash of our previous Head Scout,
Baden Powell would be an improvement.

If this happens I'll be so happy that Adkins has dealt it as a priority. Compensation for a Head Scout, whatever next, introduce him at a Press Conference? Surely not!!!

He found Sharp did he....? Could have sworn Billy's youth career was at Rotherham and then Sheffield United, same with Hooper who was a pro at Southend first....he may have recommended them to Scunny but to say he "found" them aka Jimmy Muir is a bit rich! If we are going down that route then Simon Clough "found" Scougall, McNulty etc, etc....

Hold on though.....Scunny, (SUFC) signed Billy from "The" SUFC & Hooper from S(outhend)UFC.......no wonder we want him on board....illuminati

Does a scout for a team like scunny with their resources and expectations have the contacts in the game for better players who are looking for better wages ? What I mean is will he be able to unearth better players for us ?

Can't see much about Turnbull but he was Head Scout at Scunny when Adkins was there 2006-2009.

Good enough for me - Adkins knows he's what he wants and the bloke has all that experience.

Isn't the role of chief scout to run a team responsible for finding players for the club, whether youngsters or first team? As such, surely he did indeed find Hooper and Billy for Scunny (and they turned out to be gems). So yes, we also probably need to give Simon C credit for finding McNulty for us

. IMHO, the role of chief scout is a key role - responsible for finding and recommending players to their club from wherever so a decent appointment is key.
