If we'd have signed Holmes, Ajose and Novak, the same people putting them down now would have been absolutely delighted and would have been singing Wilder's praises for picking up the best of the lower leagues. Should Duffy and Hussey have gone elsewhere, they'd also be talking those two down.

The ones saying we're not missing out are actually the ones spitting the dummy. Let's stop desperately looking for excuses to try and avoid the harsh truth and let's just accept the reality that other clubs are recruiting better than us at the moment.

They would be decent signings. But there are plenty more like them at this quality, and even Clough couldn't sign them all.

We should reserve judgment for a good few weeks yet, or to look at It another way, at least until you've started your Wilder out campaign.

The problem is not that we paid the wages it's that we paid them to the wrong people.

Anyone who thinks the solution is spend less is deluded and dooming us to League One or worse. Spending on players is the solution, just spend wiser.

Issue is it's gone from one extreme to the other.

As I've said countless number of times, use the resources that should be available with a club as big as ours, to pip the rest of the division to the best players among the lower leagues.

It really isn't rocket science.

We may have done many things over the last few seasons ....... but showing "ambition" was certainly not one of them !!

I cannot remember the last time we showed genuine ambition down at BDTBL .........

I'm in the same boat as you, we can't win, we pay over the odds for former stars with a big pas that are past it and we've lost the plot, sign only players who,want to be here and don't break the bank and were not ambitious enough, can anybody tell me the last big money signing that was a success, cause even Beattie's first spell resulted in ...?

The forum is set up the way it is to allow some order and logic.

Imagine if you went into a library to get a book out. You go into the library and you know your book will be in certain section - that is how this forum works.

Now, imagine if the library just chucked all its books anywhere, you'd have the devil's own job trying to find what you were looking for.

Also, the forum has rules including posting the right stuff in the right section.

Just because you (don't worry, you're not alone) don't want to follow the rules and make your own up as you go along, doesn't mean the rules should be broken.

We all read the other forums so your point would have been seen.

A bit depressing that seeming targets are clearly choosing other clubs rather than us. And it's not just money that's causing them to do so. We can't even fall back on the "location" get-out, now that Novak's chosen Charlton.

Revell gone. Novak gone. Marquis never considered. Who'll we end end getting? It'll have to be an up-and-comer, surely?

They don't like us - simple. Can't say I blame them with all the moaning going on.
