We have done sharp adams mcnulty is novak better than them 4 id say not different but not better

Asked a workmate who is a Chesterfield fan for his thoughts on Novak. He said "he is ok, works hard but not really that special". We need better players than him

Does anyone know when any of our realistic targets return from holiday?

And to be fair to McCabe, we can't expect to compete with the likes of Charlton, Peterboro and f'kin Northampton.

Kyle McFadzean's been back off holiday for a bit now. But MK won't let him leave, rumours suggest.

Expect United to be following him around, embarrassingly and forlornly, like a love-struck teenager, for the next 10 months or so.

So what, really. I think some of you lot would be much better suited to netball

FFS whats wrong with Netball ?

I'd be more concerned if Pierre, Nelson, McFadzean were all going elsewhere as these are the type who we would expect to be first team pillars as opposed to nice to have alternatives, which Novak would have been.

I thought McFadzean was not being let go by MK???

You forgot to add our captain and maybe best player into your matchday team sir, Sharp makes 10.

On another note, I'm reading all this stuff about budget n no money etc etc, do any of you actually know the budgets your so keen to point out to everyonelse is so low!????

If, like the Revell thread, this was a position of need, I might be annoyed, but we're in the market for selling strikers, not buying them

No but when KM says the wage bill is too high and we've still got a lot of the higher earners on our books then it's not unreasonable to suggest we haven't got much available to spend, unless the owners are intending to lose even more money this season than last.

The next excuse from the book is 'everyone is just back off hols'

If we'd have signed Holmes, Ajose and Novak, the same people putting them down now would have been absolutely delighted and would have been singing Wilder's praises for picking up the best of the lower leagues. Should Duffy and Hussey have gone elsewhere, they'd also be talking those two down.

The ones saying we're not missing out are actually the ones spitting the dummy. Let's stop desperately looking for excuses to try and avoid the harsh truth and let's just accept the reality that other clubs are recruiting better than us at the moment.

And that's why he's the market leader in WUMing folks. ;)

If we missed out on a commanding centre back I would be much more concerned. But we're not shopping for strikers are we?

No one knows what the budget is. No one knows the breakdown of the last published wages figure was either so it's all a guess, depending on the level of hatred of McCabe.

That first paragraph is your opinion not fact. You simply don't know ( although that's never stopped you before) how people would react.

The only reality at the moment is that other clubs are recruiting. Whether it's better we'll have to see. Although I am considering you may have a different understanding of reality to the rest of us.

He wouldn't get in our first 11. We're in for a target man to throw on to change games, Novak/Ajose will be regulars at Charlton and I'd much prefer Sharp/Adams

Well we are losing out on signing free transfers at the moment. I am not that fussed if its a player we were never interested in signing but these are players we were interested in.

If we are not prepared to pay a fee or prepared to pay x amount in wages to land a free transer then we will end up having to go back to loaning players in.

Length of contract?

The plan this season is lower wages but a willingness to pay fees for incoming signings. United are willing to pay fees but not ridiculous ones for players approaching thirty. We were gazumped with the Novak deal, but baulked at the asking price for Holmes and overall package for Revell. If one of the financial powers in the league want an out of contract player we do, we'll likely miss out, as we won't pay ridiculous league one salaries for incoming players. Were in a Mexican stand off with the famous seven which would mean were shopping in different store if they depart (in terms of available transfer fees). Expect this policy to continue while ever we're a league one club. This includes renegotiating new contracts with high earners who we actually rate (as their contracts expire or reach the last year).

Yes good call.

They're going to need some time to bed back in to home life.

We can't be too demanding after they've just got back.

We need to let their bodies re adjust first.
