I wish someone would have a word with Lee Evans and stop his 'acting'. Every time he's fouled he grabs a part of his body (which may or may not have had any contact) like he's been hurt, but makes a miraculous recovery the instant he get the free kick.

I'm not sure whether it's an ingrained automatic response or not, but I really don't want to see it from our players.

If only this was my only issue with Evans. Must admit I am not his greatest fan which I know will ruffle feathers round these parts

The boy has ability but he is the weakest player in our team by a long way.

My criticism of Evans is that it appears as though he tires very early int he game. He's very effective in the first half, but as soon as fatigue starts to kick in he loses his grip on the game.

I'm always in "discussions" with my mates over Evans or Lundstram. I'm fully in Camp Lundstram.

We discuss this also- both are fairly decent, Lundstram is definitely more progressive, but his downfall is he is always always capable of a right 'clanger'. Whether cross field pass that gets cut out or a daft dribble that he loses possession and sets up lethal attack for opposition.

If he could cut these errors out its deffo Lundstram but until he does it's Evans - less incisive but safer.

Fair enough point. and mirrors what our discussions revolve around.

I thought Evans was garbage last night, and that dive and scream he did in front of the South stand was embarassing.

Evans needs to stop disappearing in games and he needs to get it forrad quicker instead of always going side ways.

He’s the most likely midfielder we have to score a goal.

However he’s also the most likely one to drop an enormous bollock.

I like him, technically probably one of the better midfielders we have (alongside Fleck/Coutts). I'd take him over Lundstram but he does lack a bit of physicality.

I like him. Think he’s got some real quality...

His issue is last season he generally made at least one really bad mistake every game and also has a horrendous challenge in him per game.

That said at least he try’s things instead of only playing it simple and wide... and to be fair what do people want? He’s not the finished article yet... He’s only 23 so I think people need to give him a bit of a break.

Think he’s got all the attributes to be really good.

As has Lunds. It doesn’t have to be a case of liking one or the other. They’re different players... it’s okay to like them both.

If so I’m thinking king Chris could do with someone above him to select and buy players.

I might be wrong but has he signed anyone that’s been good? I just hope the money spent on Egan will be worth it.

Are you serious?
Clarke, Fleck, O'Connell, Baldock to name but a few

Agree with you, I just find him very mediocre, a bit of a nothing player, maybe I'm wrong but its just how I see it, still think we are a good midfielder short of a real push this season, I like lundstram but if we pick up injuries in the centre I'd Like to see someone a bit better than evans

See #23

He had chance twice last night to go forward for a return pass behind the fullback. The pass was put there but he stayed square on instead of making the run.

They’re both a liability at times. It’s hand on forehead at times when either of them makes a daft mistake. Lundstrom seems to panic and it’s all hands on deck

I always think unfinished players should never be first choice in the first team anyway.

Lee Evans will start the season v Swansea in the team.

Evans is middle of division upwards - Lunny is middle of division downwards.

That's why Evans was in the team most of the 2nd half of last season and replaced Lunny who (deservedly) had his chance when Coutts got injured.

If some of you WANT to stay in this division then by all means campaign for Lunny to start. Evans may also not be good enough to be in a starting team to get out of this division - but Lunny definitely isn't.

It's all about getting out of the division that we find ourselves and to be fair most know what's needed to give ourselves a team to get out. It's called quality and we have made a start with Egan. The only debatable point is how many more quality players do we need to get in the team?
