CONFIRMED Lee Evans on his way to the Blades?

Wolves obsessed mate of mine reckons he's decent but not as good as we've already got. Squad depth being addressed.

My memory of Lee Evans is a smirk at the Blades fans after a Bradford goal in the 3-3 last season.

Never forget owt like that me, so it's a resounding hope not on this one.

Twat.
A bit sensitive aren’t we Trenton?
Opposition smirks at opposition fans when his team scores. Good so he fucking should.

They seem to rate him very highly at Wigan. Not that that’s decisive at all. Some of them say he’s best Mf in League.

Me, I’ll go with Tufty, me.

A lot of midfielders being lined up, it’s almost as if someone is going out isn’t it?

Leonard to battle for the RCB with Basham.

Evans to battle with Fleck / Lundstram / Coutts

If there is any truth in this I'd send Whiteman and Slater out on loan. Slater looked good today and will benefit hugely from regular football.

CCV going back to Spurs then?

It would make sense, if we Sign Leonard to replace CCV. We all would see that as a positive as we are developing our own player.

Evans to battle for midfield spot. Then we have much more options. So that if we get into a mess like 3 weeks ago with no fleck and no Coutts we have replacements.

Im not that surprised by this. It was only a few weeks ago we were all saying the midfield we put out at Preston was League One standard and that we had no strength in depth. Once we lost Fleck to suspension it showed just how light we were in this area.

Obviously the worries are that these signings mean Fleck is going but Wilder sounds extremely happy and confident at the moment so I don't think this is the case. He continues to say we are in a good place and how we can push even further. In fact in the past few weeks he's seemed more chipper than ever and you can see why if these signings come off.

It wouldn't make sense to bring Leonard in primarily as a RCB having only watched him play in midfield over a long period. At a time when we're short in midfield.

You clearly hope so. Pining for a chance to knock the club you claim to support?

Sorry? If (when) we get a £10m bid from Burnley for Fleck it would be good business. not a knock you can’t criticise for taking that sort of bid.

It’s the cheap sales they deserve knocking. Maguire etc.

Think there is much more chance of Leonard being at right wing back than centre half. Read a few Southend fans saying they think this will eventually be his "proper" position. Obviously he will be used as a midfielder first and foremost but with Baldock and Freeman's injury issues it's brilliant we have such an able deputy in this area after seeing Basham struggle there so often.

You haven’t a clue whether anyone is making a bid for anyone. Yes £10m for Fleck would be “snatch their hand off time” but it’s not happening. You are wishing and hoping for a chance to denigrate the club you purport to support.

At the very least it sounds like he’ll be an upgrade on our emergency right wingback. I seem to recall in one of Wilder’s earliest interviews he talked about the need to stop moving players around from position to position, as had happened under Adkins – “square pegs in square holes” or something similar. With Leonard able to play there, the possible Evans addition, and Freeman back in light training, this will hopefully be the end of Basham having to switch position week-to-week, and he can go back to being our first-choice RCB.

Might be right Roy, but I’m baffled that some fans can’t wait to change the position of a player we’re obviously chasing because he’s impressed us in the role he already plays. It’s common sense, isn’t it? Perhaps that’s my problem. :)

For Southend he has played CB / RB / RWB / CM.

I don’t claim to know anything apart from what I’ve read from Southend supporters etc. It makes a lot of sense signing him to be fair.
Either way he can fill in the spots like Basham does if need be.

...which is far and away his most comfortable and effective position. In fact the only one where he’d get a shirt if we were at full strength.

He’s played centre-midfield more than all of the other positions put together. Why would we want to change the position in which he has impressed us enough to buy him. It’s perfectly clear Tufty wants him for central midfield. Why complicate such a simple proposition?

You need to take a Tramadol.

Won with Jake in the starting line up today.. did you notice?

You were wishing and hoping to denigrate one of the best players at the club you purport to support. As you have with previous club legends, Bassett, Jagielka etc.

Let’s see buddy.

Absolutely. It reminds me of that other popular Blade, the excellent Phil Jagielka, whose favourite position was centre-mid despite being best suited to the middle of defence. Basham has in the past said he prefers midfield, but RCB is by far his best position for us.

Had a quick glance at the Wolves board and they are complimentary of him on the whole though he's not good enough for them these days. Most seem to think he's a decent Championship midfielder.

It has quickly become clear that Basham isn't able to cut it at wing back at this level. Not just that but he is very important to us in an attacking sense when playing in the back 3. Carter Vickers doesn't use the ball anywhere near as well as Bash. With these additions it's unlikely Basham will be moved out of that defensive position again .

Well he seems a good solid player. And that's the market we are in. So I'm Happy. And it seems hes good enough to go straight in the side , which is what we need

Yes. Stearman was, according to all observers, outstanding alongside him. Did you notice? The difference is Jake will be moving on in the summer; Stears won’t.

I have never denigrated Jake Wright, but he most certainly isn’t one of our best players. He was selected for a cup tie in the same way as others not in the first team, like Thomas, Laffery, Lavery, Carruthers, Blackman and Sharp. Did you not notice? He won’t start on Friday. Maybe you won’t notice?

Your Bladey favourite Maguire asked to go. He even faked sunburn and refused to play in a friendly.

Legends come very easily for you. I require higher standards. I also understand business economics a little more readily than you do.

Let’s see buddy.

By all means, but he’s a central midfielder who we’ve scouted playing in central midfield; decided he’s good enough in central midfield to warrant paying decent money for him. He’s coming to play central midfield and it’s baffling why anyone should think otherwise. In fact nobody else does, but you stick with it.
