Went to the Millwall match and thougt we played OK but was really depressed at being bottom and thinking here we go again - another season in this shit league !!
If someone had said then that we would get 100 points I would have thought they were on loopy juice !!

Jack O'Connell certainly wasn't magic that day!

Whatever happened to Coventry City by the way?

They're a lot more competitive this season, managed to restrict Newport County to just the one goal in their 1-0 home defeat, in front of a huge 8k crowd. That place must have been rocking yesterday.
We're being cruel now :)

Ouch! Defeat at Millwall sees us sink to the bottom of the league and some questioning Wilder's ability to cope with the stress. I think we can safely say he answered those questions. View attachment 29747

Not convinced it was stress - Wilder realised he had made mistakes, was man enough to own up to those mistakes (on camera/interviews) and was extremely brave (and some still say lucky) to bring about 2 weeks of changes of (a) dropping certain players (b) giving a 2nd chance to a few others (c) completely re-thinking the formation to some thing he hadn't played before (d) bringing in 3 or 4 new players.

Credit where credits due and I am sure CW, AK and United as a club have benefitted enormously.

The question for us all: Luck or Judgement? Convince yourself it was judgement, because if so then the future could be R&W :)

The pessimist in me notes that Swindon had 7 points from 4 games ... and got relegated.

In fact three of the teams who were relegated - Swindon, Chesterfield and Port Vale were in the top 9 at this stage of the season, which proves...

It's both. It's always both. Sharp and Fleck could have torn their cruciates the day after the transfer window closed and nothing anyone could've done about it. Instead all of our key players managed to stay close to injury free for the full season. Still, it was a lot more judgement than luck.

2(p),6(p), 7 & 9, the positions those first 4 teams we played ended the season in.
We were always just a touch off a great League 1 team and we got a wake up call that probably propelled us from a play off side to champions.
