7 of them won't be there next year either!

Most of them are yo-yo clubs, 2 years this league 2 or 3 in division 4 then back again for a couple of years or so and so on.

I'd say the only teams that currently look out of place in League One are the four that have most recently played in the Premier League, that's us, Bolton, Coventry and Charlton.

I would add Bradford City to that list as well. But yeah it is depressing because I remember reading the 442 season preview. They called us an established league 1 club, which is right as the table shows but being constant favourites id forgotten

Christ, I hadn't realised Oldham had been down here that long. Mind must be playing tricks on me.

I haven't checked this but 20 straight seasons in one of the divisions you can get promoted or relegated from might be a record for the football league.

Loads of teams have done longer in the top flight or in the bottom league before automatic promotion came in but this stability in a league where 7 teams change every year is odd.

Rochdale? But L2 where there are fewer relegation spots.

Rochdale were in League Two for 36 seasons.

Ipswich are currently on 15 in the Championship.

You couldn't get relegated from league two for a lot of rochdales time. I reckon they did 24 seasons (1987 to 2010) where they could've moved but didn't.

I just hope we're not stuck in League One for the same length of time we were in the "new old" first division (i.e. the Championship these days) before we eventually got promoted. What was that, summat like 11 or 12 years?

12 seasons from 1994-95 to 2005-06.

Can't remember the last time Ipswich had a bad season?

The 15th finishes suprised me, suppose due to me not taking much notice.

I'd always thought if we matched Ipswich we'd be doing OK.

They were always stubborn bastards to play against in the Warnock years. We never used to win at their place.

I remember going to Portman Road for a league match on the day England won the rugby World Cup. I think we got destroyed 3-0.
