See that Charlton have brought in two today. They have signed pacy winger Botaka from Leeds on loan and striker Magennis from Kilmarnock, who has done well for Northern Ireland.

Also MK signed Kieran Agard from Bristol City for a club record. A player who has done very well at this level.

With Millwall looking very strong and established, seems a few other clubs upping the ante.

Next move Blades hopefully. Not holding my breath.

We have already signed seven and more to come!

Agard the pick for me very good signing with the Kyle mac money.

Agreed Agard is a good deal providing he stays injury free. However the other two...

Botaka the jury is still out on him for me. He has good, quick feet however his final product is pretty poor. Magennis I don't know too much about to comment in regards to his playing style however his goalscoring record in a poor league is nothing to shout about.

Agard should prove to be a very good signing once again at this level.

After Gillingham picked up Jay Emmanuel Thomas on loan for the season last week too (another member of the dominant Bristol City team of a couple of years ago) I'm getting a little tired of looking on in envy at some of the signings our fellow divisional powerhouses seem to be making.

Maybe tomorrow eh.

MK Dons only really had Maynard up front so they needed another striker. Agard is proven at this level and signing him firmly establishes them as a top 6 side at least.

Botaka's an interesting one for Charlton, bit of a replacement for Harriott, not too concerned about Magennis though.

Millwall haven't done anything spectacular transfer wise and I don't expect them to, all they need to do is keep Gregory. If they do they'll be in the top 3 or 4 without a doubt.

MK and Millwall look the best bets so far.

Maybe any signings will be announced tomorrow evening after the opposition have already had there last training session to prepare RE the Blades?

At this rate we should have about 20 strikers on the books with people's suggestions this summer.

Can we work on assisting the ones we do have instead.

Someone better than me can explain the Leeds winger that nobody has heard of
Lazy

Agree we jet I was very surprised with that one .

Without looking him up, tell me the amazing xareer of the Leeds fella.
Think he's played about 10 games for Leeds but he had a fall out with coach driver Evans for being lazy says him lol but seriously Evans is a good manager.

Botaka is someone Leeds signed for around a million quid from the Dutch league. He only played 10 games last season but has been in the Congo national side. Seemed Evans did not fancy him. Saw him an u21 game he was lightening fast.

No idea how he will do.

That do you?

I was not suggesting we signed any of the 3 signed. The Leeds lad may have been worth a flyer for his pace and feel we have decent strikers up top. Sharp and Clarke are better than nearly every other pairing or should be.

Just making point other teams making moves and hope we do the same. My post was just around the players signs are bringing in. We have brought 7 in but let 15/16 go so had to bring some in or would have struggled to field an eleven!!!

So has he had a fallen out with their new manager or just not impressed?

Just not impressed. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, his end product is, how can I put this nicely?... abit shit. Pacey and quick footed though.

Speedboat with no driver ! As wilder puts it .

Jay Emmanuel Thomas has a poor scoring record throughout his whole career.

Clarke's a much better signing, isn't he?

None of these recent signings by L1 clubs make me sit up and take notice as much as signing Morsy would.

Agard will be an excellent signing for MK. He's done it for Millers and Bristol at this level. I would have even swapped Sharp for him as he has pace as well as ability and alongside Clarke, I think would tear it up.

JET seems to end up being a sub at all his clubs. He's got great talent, but there must surely be a problem with him. If you looked at goals per starts, his ratio would be 0,39.

I agree on the overriding point though....
Charlton need a winger - sign Botaka
MK Dons need a striker - sign Agard
Blades need a CM and a winger - pissing about.

It's seems all to familiar. The players mentioned are irrelevant, as the OP says, it's about being proactive and filling the glaring gaps in your side.

Botaka played at stocksbridge last season for Leeds 21s. Seem to remember Kelly never gave him a kick.

Not the best signing for me.

Agard is a different class in this league.

We've signed quite a number of players we've needed. I think we've done quite well up to now.
