This is really hard, because there are loads of players I had forgotten about that were pretty good, considering how bad we were for so long. There were also a few players who only came in for a short period but made a real impact - Andy Reed, Matt Philips, Billy Clarke, Jason Holt and Alex Baptiste all spring to mind. Add in that Coutts, Bash, K.Freeman and Sharp were all here too, and I feel each of them has to have a place in the matchday squad at the very least.

So here goes. I still feel like I have missed a few obvious ones.

Andy Reid didn't play for us in League One, he was in a short term loan when we were relegated to League One. Coincidentally we started playing well and winning when we had him. Class player. I can remember him rallying the players and trying to fire them up in matches. A player on loan cared more and put in more effort than the players we owned.

That was the summer where the kit launch featured Che Adams, Ben Whiteman and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the future of Sheffield United. All three were then gone. That said, the sales of Calvert-Lewin and Adams did fund our promotion back to the Championship.

I'm surprised so few people have picked Matt Phillips - do loan signings count? I notice nobody had picked Jose Baxter or Scougall?

Looking at some of the teams got to ask why we didn't get promoted before CW arrived. We did have some quality performers that were clearly mismanaged
