Lawros Predictions

I wonder if any other clubs have threads dedicated to various pundits who have the audacity to back the opposing team against us. Whether we like it or not, not everyone is going to go out and get a blades tattoo just because we’ve started well. Obviously, if proven incorrect, we can remind them, but let’s get there rather than sounding too self entitled each weekend! (Posted on other pundit threads too, sorry)

I think you might be misreading what people are getting at. The fact that we’re 6th and his predictions would have us in 19th place, suggest he’s dong a rubbish job. If he’s as inaccurate with other teams, then I expect there will be threads criticising his dismal efforts.

My objection is him continually getting it wrong, based on his ignorance. If he’s predicted us to lose v Wolves and that’s what happens, fair enough, although he’s bound to get one right at some point.

He's just like a gambling addict trying to see out a losing streak. He had a hunch and went with it but it didn't come off so he backs it again and again, convinced that it simply has to be the next one where his hunch comes good. He can't change his mind because that would undermine the whole notion that he's got the instincts for this so he keeps going until the law of averages mean he gets one right. Then all the times he got it wrong are scrubbed from memory.

You watch, if he predicts us to lose and we do, the next week he'll have us to win. He can't change until his first prediction is proven.

So, he’s not a twoat, he doesn’t hate us, he’s not the devil incarnate....

Like flipping a coin, you pick heads but get tails 6 times in a row then you might as well keep going with picking heads until u finally get it right lol
There is, of course, an art to the building up of suspense. Although it can be done by luck alone. If luck’s the word I’m after.

Sheff Utd v Newcastle
Sheffield United keep on picking up points and I am very aware I have not tipped them enough to win (in the league table below, which is based on Lawro's predictions) this season.
I keep thinking they will run out of steam but that has not happened, and they have already shown that they are far better than I thought they were.
I thought they would stay up but I did not expect them to be as high as they are, and they just look so comfortable at this level.
It is going to be interesting what Newcastle try to do against them, and how much energy they have got left, because they worked so hard in their draw against Manchester City on Saturday.
Lawro's prediction: 2-1

Lawro, you have spoilt my week. The weekly cheeky 2nil is all I look forward to. The run is broken and based on his punditry ability I would get your house on a Newcastle win.

Bigger.

By my reckoning Mark has us on 11 points compared to our 22 so not that good really

Charlie Nicolas has us on about 5 points, idiot.

He even remarks how whenever he tips us to win, we lose and then immediately tips us to win. Conclusion: obviously hates us.

In fairness he got this right today so I think 3 out of 17
