A general view nationwide and even amongst our own fans is that we have a decent chance of playoffs but unlikely to finish top 2. However when you study a few factors then we have a great chance of winning the title.

1: Almost every player in our squad has recent experience of being in a promotion battle, gaining promotion and/ or winning a league.
Take Oliver Norwood, he must think this promotion lark is easy, last year promoted with Fulham, the year before promoted with Brighton. Now he’s going for the hatrick.

2: Our manager Chris Wilder has massive recent experience of handling the pressure of expectation and being involved in promotion battles easily winning the leagues with Northampton and Sheff Utd. Outsiders think we’re currently on a great run but this type of run is normal for Wilder. He has the 2nd best win record in England, just behind Pep Guardiola, so under CW we are very consistent.

3: Many fans might say “we won’t beat Derby”, “we won’t beat Boro” and ‘we won’t beat Leeds”
However Wilder has already mentioned winning a league isn’t about how you get on against the top teams.
It’s all about consistency over a long season. Wilder really focusses his team when we play the teams near the bottom.

4: Thanks to last season Wilder is well aware about the importance of having a good quality squad.
Last season we were up near the top 1st half and looking good, then we started looking tired in the 2nd half.
Wilder will have learnt from this and will already have identified targets for the January transfer window.

No doubt someone will correct me if I`m wrong, but I think that in the last four seasons, of the eight teams in the top two after 15 games, seven have finished the season in the top two.

I would like to see the table at this stage for the last 4 seasons. I have a feeling it's alot tighter this year.

I don't know where the myth that we don't beat the top teams has come from
Some of you been listening to your pig mates too much

Derby, Boro and Leeds have been mentioned and yet of the eight games we've played against those teams since getting promotion we've won four and drawn one.
We were also one of the few teams to beat Wolves last season

We played at QPR on Halloween last season. It went downhill from there...

Our 15th game of the season was against QPR which we lost 1-0 next came the wins against Dull and Burton. Our next win was on Boxing day against Sunderland. The 6 six games between Burton and Sunderland yielded us a grand total of 2 points from a possible 18.

Still baffles me that people post "latest odds from (insert bookmaker here)" rather than using oddschecker

To be fair we've only just got going and are 2 points ahead of the next team.

But for a bit of school boy organization vs Stoke, it should have been 4.

Let's face it 3-1 up at halftime against Derby would have been a fair reflection too.

Point is, we're not lucky to be 1st and 2 clear, we've hardly got out of third gear and with some better fortune, could have been as many as 7 clear this past week!

whilst I agree with the sentiment, if Danny Weber hand not hit the post we wouldn't have been relegated in 07. if,buts, maybe's and far too many could haves's over the years but essentially points on the board is what counts.

lets just keep our powder dry and enjoy the ride. Anyone getting giddy especially poking fun at the pigs and expecting a pig pasting could end up with egg on their face.
