Yeah turnstile scanning system went down. Was flaky all day. They didn’t want to reboot it as it takes 2-5 mins to come back online, but did so after they realized it was all a bit fooked.

Sorry for boring factual response. Some lessons to be learnt. But all good.

The turnstiles were DELIBERATELY turned off once the phase 5 was announced, it's part of the protocol.

I know the turnstiles were turned off but why do we get fans trying to get through the wrong turnstiles every bloody game? It tells you what turnstiles you can use on your ticket.

We got in early, but a fella who sits near us was caught up in it and got to his seat just as they kicked off. Said turnstiles turned off and stewards all moved away because of “phase five”. When they turned back on (very quickly), some of them wouldn't work, so the already big queues had to merge into bigger ones.

Not my account as I say, but what I was told.

"Phase 5" is when the stewards get up off their fat arses and face the crowd. It only becomes serious when "Mr Meadows" has to go to "South Stand reception".

I heard that too! Summat to do with a chicken-balti pie, being handled in its box, just before it entered the microwave. Some confusion arose when they went to watch the incident back in slow motion, because the catering staff are in slow motion anyhow, in normal time, so when they slowed it down they couldn't detect any movement at all from them. However, after drawing imaginary grid lines between the hot dogs and the stack of Bovril cups, they were satisfied that no offence was committed and they flicked a switch to allow the power to divert and operate the electronic turnstiles again.

The club would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and to assure all supporters that all chicken balti pies are prepared to the highest standards of hygiene. (Meat and Tater a bit dodgy though like!).
