I can confirm that with 23 minutes to go against Crewe under Adkins there was one turnstile open on the Kop! Not sure about the other stands though.

I never even made it to the match on a couple of occasions.

I do have a very old record of going to all United homes games to think of, couldnt put that at risk even under Adkins but I do know a couple who used to stay in the pub, couldnt really blame them
