After the disappointment of the defeat against Wednesday three days previously, the Blades faced Scunthorpe United at home. It was a nervy performance but thanks to goals by Lee Williamson and a deflected Stephen Quinn goal we won the game 2-1 to increase the gap between us and Wednesday. The crowd was 16,165 (I bet we get more tomorrow against Burton Albion).
During the game, rumours began circulating around the Kop that Wednesday had sacked Gary Megson. The crowd left happy - Wednesday were in chaos and we were comfortably in second place. What could possibly go wrong?
