Langford is a disgrace

If he doesn't see it then there is a half a chance their lad gets a retrospective ban for it.
Doesn't help us tonight nor does it excuse him...hes just a crap referee who has something against us....in no way whatsoever can anyone claim he had anything but a shocker tonight..its not acceptable in any level of football missing tackles like that...there are fouls that are fouls snd fouls that are leg breakers...that tonight was the latter...and anyone thats played football to a decent level knows that. Send him Off at that point and it's a different game all together ...compound it by sending off our bloke (just like at Charlton last year when he gave nothing for an assault on mcallum then sent 2 if ours off) and its verging in cheating.

I normally sit on the fence when it comes to defending officials as being a referee myself, I like to take my blades glasses off before thinking about the decisions made. Watching the 2nd yellow card back, it is never caution/yellow card in a million years, it’s not like he has stopped a promising attack as he is just over half way on the left wing, it’s difficult to see if it’s actually a foul. Will see who Langford has at the weekend.

I have mentioned it a lot but the blatant and somewhat deliberate elbow away at Blackburn on Souza's face the other year was when you knew Langford was crap or just really had it in for us.

He was looking right at that incident.

Their bloke ran straight into Hamza. Do defenders now have to move out of the way and let the opposition pass!?

It happens during a season that you’ll have matches where the refs decisions go against you. It’s football, no point crying over it.

We’re just a below average/poor Championship side. We need to look at what we can control rather than bitching and moaning about things we can’t.

Let’s try and improve some basics like being able to pass to a teammate, not gifting the opposition the ball in shooting areas or leaving opponents in acres of space in our box.

Did he see it? As I’ve said previously, we don’t have VAR.
Watch the replay. Off course he saw it. He raised his arms to say ‘play on’ It was a good advantage but he should have retrospectively shown a red card after. Dreadful decision and when you consider our history with him it raises serious question marks against him. The commentators said at the beginning he hadn’t sent anyone off this season so far. Must be just us he detests then

Thought he had a decent game. Let a lot go and kept the game moving. Hamza been done twice as he’s not a RB. Both fair bookings. One on Bamford looked bad but if he hasn’t seen it can anyone recommend a red at this level?
I see the usual pig lovers are loving this!.

Awful. Studs up on Bamford...nothing. Their bloke runs into Hamza and launches himself to the floor...red. Useless, incompetent wanker.
The Portsmouth t.at immediately turned waving his pathetic hand at the ref after deliberately running into Choudhury. Staged and premeditated by the c.nt.

I made an assumption about the allegiance of a poster who said how can you ask for a red ' at this level.' .
I was right. But my comment is best removed from view. So I moved it.

We don’t keep the ball at all well enough, with 10 or 11 men. It’s been a constant theme for two seasons. It’s not the only problem we have but it’s a big one. Sometimes, like the first half, we have short spells where we play a bit of football. Inevitable that we then lose our way and resort to lumping down the channels.
We began as though Bassett was back in charge. Cooper reaching edge of their box with cannon launcher kicks.

Is it just me or do others remember linesman waving there flags madly at the referee's to get there attention. It very rarely happens now surely the linesman saw both issues there is a shot of the choudrey one with the lino looking straight at it and makes no movement to flag probably thought like every one else it wasn't a foul.

Every tome a Portsmouth player fell over the t.at fell for it. He allowed a player to hold on to Peck when ball outfit a throw. Later the Pompey player got booked. Ought to have been a 2nd yellow.
Incessant free kicks to Portsmouth by an incompetent c.nt.

He should do but hardly happens unless its a most serious offenses such as spitting, violent contact (punching/stamps etc) or racial abuse.

I hope we submit a report against Langford for that and also document the challange on bamford.

Either way it wont change the outcome of the game now, but they could and should have had 2 red cards that game and Langford did what he does best, be completely bias against us.

We need to take a stand against him now, as its getting seriously out of control when hes referring us, he blatantly has an agenda against us and sadly this wont come out until years later when hes doing some shitty YouTube podcast for pennies.

Ah what about late in 2nd half when their player went through Mcallum when he went to clear ball, Mcallum went down hurt but referee gice us a throw in in stead. Soon as Mcallum got up and hobbled to side line, he immediately blew whistle and did the 5 second count down. He only just bent over to pick ball up.

We all know Langford is a piss poor ref who seems to like sending United players off but let's not use last night's antics to be a get out of jail card for Wilder. From the off our tactics were very poor, hoofball to two strikers who are not that good in the air was never going to work. Portsmouth were just as bad as the stats were 50/50 until a defender pops up with a worldie (only his 2nd ever goal) and the sending off just about made it game over. Not convinced Wilder's subs improved anything our two goals came from shocking Pompey defending leaving Tanganga and Cannon with free hits on goal, a bit like our defending for their 2nd and 3rd goals. The only thing we can take from that game is the players showed some fight. Two really poor teams shaded by the one with eleven men on the pitch both will be close to the bottom three all season.
Did someone suggest their boss could be a replacement for Wilder on here the other day? Phuck me.

Hamza’s 2nd booking is a joke, he simply ran straight into him so it wasn’t that Hamza moved or made himself bigger to block him.
Being overly kind he may have not seen the Bamford challenge but was pretty close to it.

I mean even if he doesnt see the challange what is the linesman and 4th official doing. What is the point in them now?

They dont want to take any responsibility. Its like sunday league where referee turns up and gives flags to subs and says ill do offsides u just do in and outs.

Seriously with the technology around now do we really need them? They harly flag for fouls or overule the ref, they donf want to be the one to pull the ref aside, plenty time you see ref pointing which way throwing is for them. Its even worse in prem as they dont flag for offside unless its absolutely blatant 10 yards off.

Wed be better with a var style 2nd offical watching the game live from various game angles that relays live offsides and throw ins to the ref and pulls him up on incidents he may have missed. Rather than actual var slowing game down.

There is no advantage on a red card tackle. Play has to stop immediately.

The Bamford one was identical to Phillips v pigs. We all agreed that was a red card.
It was a terrible decision and cost us, just like the Hamza second yellow.
It’s again the win consistency that we regularly seem on the wrong side of; one nearly costs is a crucial win and then the other gets completely ignored.

I think we are owed an apology for the Bamford one at the very least.

Im a firm believer, both linesman are told before the game kicks off, leave the decisions to me and dont get involved, let's be honest they can't even get throw ins right without looking at the reff! There Pointless now!!

But still, from that list:

  • Last night - Portsmouth player not sent off for a knee high challenge on Bamford go unpunished
  • Charlton match - Foul on McCallum in a similar nature to Soumare's, went unpunished
  • Blackburn away in 2024 where he let an obvious elbow on Souza? go unpunished
  • The Burton match where Coutts broke his leg where the challenge once again was unpunished
