I remember seeing the mock up at the lane at an open day. I was quite impressed as an 8 year old kid

Same here. It must have been one of the first club open days - possibly in 1982?

I remember that the model was in the Boardroom, and in the context of what most football grounds looked like at the time, it looked quite exciting. At the time, the South Stand has only just been completed - not in terms of the actual seating but in terms of all the offices, dressing rooms, and Boardroom in the back that we couldn't afford to finish in the late 70's until Reg Brearley came in - and nobody thought there was that much wrong with the Lane end or John Street. The curved stand on Shoreham Street would have followed the line of the athletics track that the plan envisaged.

Yes, I think that to try to save money they were going to use that newspaper kiosk from Pond Street

Didn’t the Sheffield Sands casino development at the Lane involve a redesign or redevelopment of the stadium as well as the casino building itself? 2004 it was, but I can’t find any images of the proposal? I’m sure the the whole ground was redesigned into a bowl type thing....??

It had legs this one though. It was genuinely the real deal, ground improvements and a stake in a casino to boot! they should put one under the Kop when they knock it down and COMPLETELY REBUILD IT!
