Lambert says Wolves squad is too big.

So, what do we do then? Sign him based on what we've seen with our own eyes for the past few months or give a miss because someone's Wolves mate says he's prone to the odd error. Give me a fucking break.

Of course we should sign him.

What I'm trying to say is that we shouldn't be thinking he's massively in demand so we need to break the bank and pay him over £10K a year because he's such a star. Also my point is that he's not likely to be in demand in Championship (apart from maybe teams at the bottom end) and he's unlikely to be wanted by Wolves.

If we're the buying club it shouldn't be us telling Wolves how great he is, bigging him up when they didnt rate him. They now might want more money. We should play it cool, set a fair price and wage but look for alternative targets. This might end up being like a game of poker, if Wolves think we're desperate then they might hold us to ransom so we should be prepared to bring in an alternative.

As I've said there's a theory that EEL is not good enough playiing in a normal formation of 2 centre backs.

But with Jake Wright forming a back 3, then it allows EEL and O'Connell to make occasional mistake and Wright is clever enough to sweep up and cover errors.

My understanding was that there were no more 24-hour recall clauses, but a recall could be made during the January transfer window when it opens. Might be wrong, though.

If you check the rules for season long loans it allows the parent club to recall their player BUT only in the January transfer window. So we have him until Jan17 gauranteed.

Normally parent clubs keep the original arrangement in place but Wolves might decide that their new manager wants to assess him and recall all loanees but I think Wolves have plenty of cover at centre back, they can't keep everyone.

We'd be lucky to get the worst central defender in the world for less than £10,000 a year.:)

The worrying bit is where he say's he's spent time abroad studying the game !!!
Remind you of anyone ?

I remember that Blackwell said he'd travelled the world before joining us to look at a variety of coaching styles, in particular Brazil. Wasted trips from what I witnessed.

Oh yeah. I was thinking either George Orwell or Charles II. Miles out.

Well we have seen with our own eyes that EEL can make the odd mistake, Fleetwood.

Hope it's not the 'Plays like Beckenbauer whilst on loan, as soon as he's full time, it's Albert Steptoe Syndrome' rearing it's ugly throbbing head.

Yeh it's amazing how some players are never the same once they gain a permanent contract (Brayford)
EEL is still young though and still has motivation to build up a career with financial security.

It's not just loanees, it seems to be a common theme with players playing for a new contract.
Ched Evans was given a big £10K a week contract and was pretty average for mos of it
But during the last 6 months when his contract was due to expire...surprise...surprise...he starts playing like a world beater with maximum effort meaning he could have expected an even bigger salary.

Coutts and Freeman are almost out of contract and their form and desire has massively improved.
Give them a good contract and it wouldn't surprise me if their form dips too.

So, EEL's prone to the odd mistake, would cost more than 10k/week in the championship, might only be playing well to get a new contract, its JOC who's making him look good etc.

Reading these and some of the other comments from the negative nellies on here has got me thinking what the reaction would be if we were after Messi. Here's a few i can think of:

He's too small
But could he play alongside Billy Sharp?
We've already had one beard and look how that worked out
Ah but has he been up against typical league 1 centre halves?

I'm sure there's more.

he was alright a few years ago
our last argentinian didnt help much
probably get locked up for tax evasion with 4 games to go
he d be better if he was as tall as Currie was

Yep, all the things they said before getting sacked from the last job.

UTB

And picking up lots of dosh for then sitting on their arses. I always think it's not a sacking if you are still getting paid.

I wish this would happen to me if I got sacked!

"Oi you are shit pack your stuff. By the way we will pay you for doing nowt if you like"

Just had a disturbing image of Nyron two club feet and a 50p shaped head Notworthy having read that.
