Lack of identity

I think Wilder is still working out what our identity actually is, which I don't really blame him for given our best 3 players were sold and he wasn't given a penny to replace them.

I imagine a kind of 4-3-3 is probably the way forward, with Donovan and BBD on the wings and a midfield of Peck, Arblaster and Phillips. I think it's about time we give the latter two a run of games to see if they're up to it, as I don't think these regular 20-minute sub appearances are really helping anyone anymore.
This just seems so obvious.

4-4-2 leaves us getting overrun in every single game.

I really don’t see the point in persisting with 2 midfield players because however long we need to adopt and improve if we start with 4-3-3 it will still be time well invested than persisting with 4-4-2.

The 2 midfielders we select won’t get quicker. They won’t be able to cover more ground. They wont be able to close down better and recover the ball once they’ve turned it over.

It HAS to be 3 in the middle.

This is where I disagree with Wilder. “I’d rather do one system well than three average” was the type of comment. Disagree. We’re not talking about changing from 4-3-3 to 1-0-9! We’re taking about 4-3-3 retaining a midfield 3 and moving to either a 5-3-2 or 5-3-1-1 and it just means bringing on either RND and moving McCallum to centre half or Baptiste to centre half. Then you either move BBD up top and Donovan subbed off (5-3-2) or the opposite with Donovan just off a striker (5-3-1-1); it’s not an outlandishly radical change at all; it’s one personnel change and pushing fullbacks a little further forward.

That’s the way forward for me. 4-4-2 out, 4-2-3-1 has gone too. The two obvious ones are clear as day.

We simply can’t keep playing this passive brand of hoofball and expect to keep getting away with it.

The propagandist has spoken.

Stop being beastly to Cwissie you naughty boys.

Does he not take any blame himself?

Supports are rightly upset and negative, the football we are paying to watch is absolutely dogger and tactics used to boot. We are watching players that shouldn't be in our match day squad week in week out.

If we was playing good. Exciting attacking football with chances and good play and managed half the points we have. I doubt you get anyone moaning, you would be having the fan base rallying behind the team and manager. But we are seeing tbe opposite and been lucky to beat and draw against relegation fodder and newly promoted sides and this is the first test against a strong side.

🤣

He'll never take any blame. His ego won't allow it.

I'm grateful for the points we have as every one helps us to survive in this diviosion this season. And yes, we could have a worse manager, it's true. But he has signed a lot of these players and we are boring, dull to watch and we'll get beaten comfortably, possibly thrashed, by better teams than Bolton and Blackburn. The owners are ignorant and dangerous morons and the team/squad should do a lot better in terms of performance and style of play but the tactics are dreadful and Wilder should still be held to account for what is happening and how a lot of fans are being put off watching. Thousands of the fan base can't all be wrong, Chris.

A couple of wins against particularly poor teams are masking the poor state we are in and there is no point hiding from it.

I know when the shirt must feel at it's heaviest.

When we've lost and there's only a few hundred left in the ground while HIS team slowly make their way around the pitch acknowledging the supporters as WE clap them off.

And where is he then? Repeatedly missing in action.

Yet more deflection from him.

But that won't fit 'the narrative' will it?

Won’t be as lucky in the next 40 or so matches. Wilder needs to sort it. His tactics are way off. Need to go to 4-3-3 and aim for more control in matches instead of shitting ourselves every time we have the ball.
He's working with what he's got due to no support from the"Wanks" and loss of certain squad players through injuries Patience required, if you haven’t got any , follow the rest of the entitled plastics and go somewhere else.
Who else would do any better?
