Lack of ‘Striker’ rumours

Nothing said about not meeting Swift's valuation, just that their owner sees the club building their future around him and has dug his heels in. By many accounts, we'd agreed pretty much everything and then it was blocked.

Surely that's a valuation issue then?

If the owner is building a team around swift, dug his heels in and rejected the offer, then surely our offer is obviously under Reading's valuation?

Depends on the owner. The fee was agreed to fair and reasonable level, but the owner has decided he doesn't want to sell at all. Its semantics and of course if went back with 20m, that may change his mind. But the post I was responding to was assuming it was us who were playing games or being miserly in getting Swift, when it looks like it's Yongge who is determined to not let go.

While King, Brewster and Sturridge might have been mentioned on here, there's only Watkins that's been mentioned in the press.

Oh, I hadn't seen that.

In my defence I meant the English speaking press...

"Meanwhile, Sheffield United’s French forward Lys Mousset on his way to create a vacancy for Brewster."

Spurs linked with Brewster today.

Brewster commented on Aaron Ramsdale's insta congratulating him. Means absolutely nothing but at least they're mates which COULD help show Brewster we have ambition.

At 20, and off the back of a good loan spell I cant see Liverpool selling him.
He will probably go out on loan again and if he does and Liverpool want to see him tested at a level up then we make perfect sense.

Says they've enquired about a loan.

Agree, but Liverpool didn't do too bad paying £8 million for a left back who was relegated with Hull.
It's this isn't it. Good scouts and managers have a way of finding a bit of value and mostly make good purchasing decisions.

I don't any of the players we signed last summer have fallen in value. They all have a fair bit of premier League experience now and can all improve. We should only sell if helps get stronger replacements over the line.

I'm sure Wilder said when he went on loan he needed to be playing and that he was still in his plans or something like that.

Remember Wilder saying that Robinson had approached him about it and it seemed right at the time. Robinson was getting game time but something wasn't clicking, whether it was confidence, fitness or pressure. I've got a lot of time for Robbo, seems a genuine lad. Commendable if he pushed a loan move to improve himself maybe away from the spotlight.
