You're not alone in that. I also think there is a lot of improvement left in McBurnie & Mousset if they want it enough.
We need to be able to control play better in the final third & allow our strikers to do their thing - that being, getting into the box to convert.
As it is, we're either playing too direct (bypassing the midfield) and therefore requiring our strikers to be outside of the box, playing with backs to goal.. or - with McGoldrick on the field, we're playing on the deck, between the lines, but with McGoldrick too involved in the buildup and not close enough to goal.
Either way, if we continue to surrender possession and go long as often as we do we're really going to struggle creatively. Ideally, we need our wide midfielders / wing backs to eat into the McGoldrick role to allow us to play with two orthodox strikers...
OurThe above is why I can see Wilder's desire to bring in young wing backs like A Robinson & Matty Cash, capable of improving, but who are already rapid and able to carry a ball forwards into dangerous areas.
