You can but I definitely won't be.

Since my son moved there 8yrs or so back I've grown to love the place and it's people in general.

Of course it has it's share of dickheads smackheads, and urban decay, but you name a city that doesn't.

That bit of Hull as you walk across the new bridges & walkways over the frankly shithole A63. In the late afternoon sunshine. With the masts & other nautical shit of all the boats in the marina on your right. With the large expanse of Humber water in front of you. And the older, now renovated, fruit market buildings on your left. You could be anywhere. Copenhagen sprang to my mind.

Indeed, that part of Hull is absolutely buzzing. The Bone Machine Taphouse on Humberside St once you get down to sea level is a great place. As is The Minerva Hotel right at the end.

There was a drunk idiot in the away end at qpr when we won 2-1 under wilder. I was so proud that he was shouted down and forced to shut up by the blades fans around him. I genuinely think Sheffield folk are better than most when it comes to racism. The player was the one who scored, now at Palace, can't remember his name. I agree with your sentiment, as this was an isolated incident, only time I remember it since villa away in 94, when littlejohn got abuse from some idiots.

Correct, Barnsley born and bred( no jokes). I ain't got 6 fingers, I ain't had sex wi mi mam and neither as mi Uncle. I ain't had sex wi mi sister. We've got lecy and gas ( unfortunately) . I can read. I'm not in awe of Sheffield and as Hull there are some salt of the earth people as well as awful people. And got some nice beers. Does it bother me the stick Barnsley gets on here, no way, bring it on. 👍

Eberechi Eze, apropos nothing.

The only time I've come across overt racism at a United game was about 20 years ago. Back of the Kop, one of the United players made a mistake and got a few grumbles of "what the fuck are you playing at". Fine, apart from that one dickhead who thought it was worth adding "and he's black, too" to the chorus of criticism. This continued for most of the second half. It's one of my few regrets that I didn't do anything about it.

I stated it without putting forward any view, so you’re making some pretty wild assumptions there.

I support the Blades because they are my home town team. Nothing to do with superiority or, indeed inferiority, which many also carry judgements of.

I agree, there is a differentiation, but the point I’m making is that they both come from broadly the same place, and that place is quite primitive.

Surely, the general interpretation of Racism is, as the term suggests, relating to a particular ‘race’ of people who are discriminated or treated differently or suffer abuse, purely on the basis of their specific ‘race’

I think to try and broarden the definition to include, fat/thin people, Cockneys, NUM strike breakers, Scousers, Geordies, Welsh, Irish and Scots and the like, rather than highlight the problem, just dilutes it and deflects attention away from the real issue of true Racism, still suffered by many people the world over.

Let’s face it, we all know racism when we see or hear it and it’s got nothing to do with having Ginger hair, for fucks sake 🤦🏻
