His contract is set to end next Summer 24 and there's been no talks, so far, to extend it.

It's reported that he's currently on £150K a week.
So even if he halves his pay to £75/week, we still can't afford him.

Jags came on a free transfer, we'd need to wait another season before Walker becomes a free agent.
So we'd need to stay up next season before we can have any hope of signing him the following year.
