Kyle Walker is completely awesome....

Tbh I think at the time most thought Knaughton the better of the two but we hardly had a chance to see enough of him to make a proper judgement.

The real shame is he isn't an England star as a Sheffield United player.

Even if we were in the premiership and Walker was playing for us . We all know he wouldn't even get a look in .

I am not shocked that he has developed into an excellent RB. I'm just glad that he has fulfilled his potential and is now looking like a world class footballer.

I thought both Kyles were equally as promising. Both very confident with the ball, threatening in attack (even if they wasn't as strong defensively) but for whatever reason Naughts hasn't made the same strides that KW has. To a lesser extent, Matt Lowton also.

There was no fucker to cross to most of the time. Harry Kane was playing sweeper. Daniel Sturridge was playing Attacking Mid, left mid, left wing, right mid, trequarista. etc etc
They aren't on his wave length I'm afraid.

Pure class the pat to games. And as said, still remembers where he came from.
He's still in touch with his old Blades youth team coach. Calls him up to say thanks and asks for advice occasionally.

Well according to Mick "I made myself look like a complete twat on the radio" the Rawmarsh owl, walker was awful this is what the clown said on North Korea talk:

Walker is trending on twitter about how brilliant he was

Brilliant thats it i now fully admit i know sweet FA about football

I thought he was awful

His crossing was abysmal he slowed so many attacks it was untrue

Wow just wow, I hope he calls some radio stations tomorrow saying this he will be shown up the last time he called a national radio station. By the way walker was superb England best player.

Kyle Walker has all of the attributes that are required to be a world class (modern) full back. He can defend and attack brilliantly and has the engine and pace to do both, effectively, over 90 minutes. He sometimes needs to be a bit more careful in possession, a little bit cuter tactically (a la Lahm) and a little more conscious of his positioning in defensive situations - luckily these are all things that can be coached.

The big thing now for Walker is to maintain this standard and deliver these 8/10 performances, consistently, over a full season. If he manages that then it won't be long until one of the big 5-6 European clubs come knocking... I think Alves has finally left Barca, that would be an incredible story for him and should be the goal.

The amount of slagging he gets on Twitter from the fans of Arsenal, West Ham, Chelsea etc is astonishing.

I've seen tweets today saying he was our worst player from some of them.

Blind twats!

And obviously there's a green eyed monster going round the North prawn sandwich cockney areas of Laaaarndon!

I did say at one point in the second half "I knew Kyle was good but since when did he become the Hulk, the Flash and Cafu put together."

He really was the best player in a good England performance. Well done Kyle.

I'm still a bit gutted about the result (born in Sheffield but strong Welsh family roots) but Kyle was England's stand-out player - effectively tied Taylor up in defence and neutralised that side as an attacking option for Wales. Well done Kyle.

My Wednesday mate alerted me to this earlier today. I'm sure Mick is just saying things for attention now. Its all rather sad

When we played Burnley in the 2009 PO Final it was (I think) his fifth game for us. Already you could see he was special. He looked good yesterday but - like Bale - he will never hit the heights with the national team. Yesterday, Walker, Alli, Lallana and maybe Rooney were acceptable. The rest, especially Sterling, were far to slow to break down a very poor Welsh team.

Jason de Vos (who was doing the punditry on TSN (Canada)) slated both England full backs, especially Walker for not playing high enough up the pitch when England were attacking.

Jason who?

I'd stick to ice hockey lads and not worry your little heads over this limey soccerball stuff.

Nah nah nah nah
Ees a Blade and ees a Blade

He is very good, but on a number of occasions I felt he made the wrong choice in the final third and instead of putting in a pacey cross he slowed the attack down... He and Rooney had a good understanding though

Best player in an England shirt over the two games for me. He reads the game well, makes himself freely available out wide, has a fucking excellent engine, isn't afraid to take on their full backs and widens and stretches opposition defences. On seventy minutes yesterday he went past their wide man like he'd just come off the bench with fresh legs. I think there is a goal for him in this tournament as well. Rose is about 65% of what Walker is, and he also has impressed me.

Very proud he is from Sheffield and used to wear the shirt.

By the way, we sold him and McCabe was in charge then as well. Just sayin' ...

I was getting really pissed off listening to R5 yesterday morning. Many fans made a presumption that Walker would mark Bale, and both English fans (who were saying England would lose or draw) and Welsh fans (predicting Wales would win) kept repeating the same sort of thing, "Who's going to mark Bale? Walker? <guffaw> Don't make me laugh!", like he's some third-rate, lucky to be in the team, doesn't deserve to be on the same pitch, late call-up replacement. Pissed me right off. Makes you wonder what football they are watching week in and week out?

Agree with the above, easily the best right back in England, and one of the top right backs on the planet right now. Not sure he needs to move to Spain TBH, if I was a betting man I'd put money on Spurs for the title next season.

He was UEFA's Man of the Match. Here in Germany, the pundits, all praised his speed and endurance. They commented on his decision making in the final third, but felt he would be a perfect fit for Bayern or Real. I suspect a big move might well be on the cards. Oliver Kahn loves him and he is still involved with Bayern.

Do we have a sell on clause?

Just a poor man Brayford

In all seriousness he's been brilliant, as has Rooney and Lallana, over both games. As soon as he gets the ball his first thought is get forward, almost every time he had it he moved us 40 -50 yards further up the pitch.

Not going to lie though, before the tournament I wasn't sure if I'd have him or Clyne playing. Just felt that in the warm up games he was trying too hard and things weren't coming off for him, and defensively I've never been 100% sure about him. Delighted for the guy though, glad to have been proved wrong!

Yes indeed, another instance of Chairman Kev liquidating the clubs assets at the first opportunity - this fella is now in the top half dozen attacking full backs in world football with a conservative value of £25m.

More bad luck eh Kev??

I've read an awful lot of tweets saying he should be dropped for Clyne. What do people watch?

Absolutely balmy that is. Yes, his end product wasn't perfect but there was little movement in the box. When he came on Rashford seemed to playing out wide rather than down the middle and Vardy was often coming out to the left too meaning there was no target. Even Beckham would have struggled to put balls on a plate yesterday. Walker was on his own down the right and was fantastic as England's main attacking threat just as he was against Russia. The difference yesterday was that he kept going for the full 90 minutes whereas against Russia once England started to sit back his threat also waned. It will be interesting to see how he and England cope when teams come at as more as for 180 minutes now he hasnt had to work too hard defensively.
