i thought he was supposed to be going in january to the premier league?
was this a rumore or was it the truth? i think he should stay at the blades because if we get promoted he be more valuable
:nana:

Well I can't be sure... but the fact it's now April might be something of a clue ;)

Welcome to the forum.

oh so he could be going next season?
i hope he dosent because he is a quality defender

He could go at any time, but I believe back in January he was quoted as saying that he'd spoken to a few of the older players at the club and their advice was to put his head down and learn his trade before trying to move on.

If we get promoted, I can't see him going anywhere.

i think he should stay because he can get first team football here and at another club he might not

I dont think naughton will be leaving any time soon, he is a blade and will only leave if he has an offer that he cant turn down!

Whilst i also think we will get at least another 12 months service from Naughton i think it would be foolish to suggest that the fact he has come through our academy will sway his decision one way or the other.

The best young players tend to move to the bigger clubs at a very young age so they can take control of their development.

If any of the big boys came in i doubt the lad would turn them down because he is a 'blade'.

I have a friend who has spoken to Naughton a few times and Naughton has said he has no intentions of going anywhere. He loves the club.

But saying is different from actually doing.

Alan smith was on Soccer AM whilst still at Leeds United and he said, to the entire nation, that the one club he would never join was Manchester United.

I'm not doubting his affection for the club but footballers want to play at the highest level possible and if a top 8 club came knocking i believe he would be off and i wouldn't blame him.

Yeah, I'm not saying I disagree with you. I'm just stating what was said:D

Kyle's performances have slipped a little of late. Making a splash is a lot different than playing week in and out. Not sure clubs are so keen to spend until he becomes more consistent.

Personally think he's tired. It's hard for any player to come in and play this many straight games. Especially a former youth player who isn't used to playing football at this level.

well done to him though for sticking at it!

You're omitting one vital piece of information though. Alan Smith is a cock.

I remember sombody once said that about another United player, who came from the youth ranks. That was Dane Whitehouse, and he turned down at least one transfer to a supposedly bigger club. Some players might be perfectly happy playing for the club they also support.

Fair point and perhaps the exception that proves the rule; although for every Dane Whitehouse there are a thousand players who have moved on when the big clubs come calling.
