Pretty decent goal for him for Charlton today if anyone saw it - worth watching if you haven't.

couldnt care less if he got caught raping the queens corgis
when i saw him play he was shheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttt

Why is it some players seem to do better when not playing for united?

Its only because we notice the name in the reports. We don't see the other 20 poor performances that come before and after it. We see the headline.

Then some folks assume that because of the headline, they are 'doing well' at a new club. Naturally, the logical progression is to think that they were only a stinking pile of crap here because of a. The manager, or b. The managers tactics. This is then taken as undisputable fact that the manager is 'ruining' them.

If you take a moment to look behind the headlines, there are very few players who we think are crap, or even those we think are kind of OK, in fact very few players at all (even folk heroes like Jon Stead and Christian Nade...) who then go on to any kind of greatness elsewhere...

Saw alot of Kyel Reid in pre-season. Ok the quality of teams we played wern't brilliant but he was the only one who could beat a man pretty much every time. I had very high hopes for him and had him down to be one of our most dangerous players this season.

nah they dont. think of the names that did well at the lane then moved and you hear nothing about.

tounge jags brown just to name a few.

Jags - are you serious? He's highly rated at Everton and has played for England since leaving the Lane.

I see Killa was on the bench yesterday. Didn't get on despite Sunderland's left back having a 'mare. Bruce thought Darren Bent was a better option at LB.
Strange.
Is this the start of Killa's slide back to Championship football?

He's maybe on of those who will only flourish on local soil. Lahdahn boi. Bit like Hendire can only thrive in the Midlands where he is consoiderably richer than Yow.

Bruce was aiming for someone to keep up with Walcotts pace. Killa would have been stood admiring.

He has played at a higher level than he was playing at the Lane, has had a long PL career, and is still regularly playing in it. He hasn't done badly at all.

I suppose it depends. He clearly hasn't reached the heights as an attacking force that he enjoyed in the 2002/03 season with us. However, he's been completely remoulded into a defensive midfielder, and now is about as prolific in the Premiership goals-wise as Monty is in the Championship. I remember Tongey completely outshining him when we beat Fulham in the Premiership.

A lot of people wish we would resign him, thinking that he'll be immediately able to turn back into a creative attacking midfielder a la 7 years ago. I doubt it would be that easy - he's probably forgotten how to even score from a free kick, let alone wack them in from twenty odd yards in open play.

Completely agree with this. It would be a huge mistake to resign him in my opinion, he is a totally different player to the one who left us.

Doesn't alter the fact that he has had a decent career since leaving us though, a good average PL midfielder, never really hit any great heights, but has never had to drop down a division either.

anyone think kyel reid was sent to us as part of some west ham deal?

he was released by them, and we supposedly 'beat off lots of championship and even premier league opposition' to sign him, so i highly doubt it
