Can they play tomorrow while they are still trialists?

I thought Kruk looked technically very good last Sunday, not used to full backs who can pass a ball.

Trialists cant play. Well they cant on Football manager so I take it that mirrors real life.

Being trialists they are not officially registered as our players so cannot play in a competitive game.

They have obviously done well so I see no point delaying things if Danny wants to sign them.

One thing that hasnt been mentioned is that these players will probably become increasingly desperate to find a club.

If we keep delaying things to see who leaves they might go elsewhere.

A Trialist quite often gets a game in the lower leagues of Scottish football.
I don't know what the difference is in rules north of the wall, but their obviously is one (or more)

I was very impressed with Kruk and would be happy if we signed him.

Macdonald looked steady but nothing spectacular but could still be a decent buy.

Assuming this is true, I don't understand not being able to sign Kruk. I know we're skint; but he was playing for a German second division side last season. He can't be on a fortune! Suppose it's a clear sign of how utterly brassic we are.

Perhaps we could have paid someone with a bit of ability and a prospect rather than pay Kozluk yet again for being the club prankster - can't see any other use for him!!!

McCabe said at the end of last season that he expected to be signing cheques for monies being paid out over and above the budget whilst things 'settled down'. Surely this is one of those situations where this is justified when we know that people will be moved out eventually. To miss out on Kruk, or anyone, for the sake of £2K a week or whatever would be madness.

No decision made yet according to OS: http://www.sufc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10418~2411074,00.html

No decision has been made on the futures of trialists Kevin McDonald and Alex Kruk, Danny Wilson has confirmed.

The duo have spent the majority of the pre-season campaign with United, hoping to impress Wilson, who comments: "At this moment, it is still a case of wait and see. We are still looking to get players out and that hasn't changed.

"We can bring one or two in but at a suitable level.

"Of, course, there is a danger that they will go elsewhere, that's the way of the game, but at the same time we have to bring in the players we need.

Scottish midfielder McDonald and German defender Kruk have both featured heavily in the pre-season encounters.

The quote about bringing one or two in at a suitable level intrigues me. Does that mean he has other players lined up that are better than these two??

I took it to mean a decent level of salary.

Not sure what Kruk has been earning but I would guess McDonald had a decent wage at Burnley.

I am guessing the couple of players he refers to might be Parrino and Mendez-Laing.

Both of whom are to arrive imminently by the sound of things.

Exactly what does he mean by "bring in the players we need"? We have a bit of a hole at left back at the moment*, we've got a left back on trial who by all accounts has performed well.

In other news, did Kozluk definitely sign for another year?

*I realise that Lecsinel can play there but that would mean Maguire and Collins in central defence...zero pace.

Just mentioned on FH that Danny Wilson has said that so long as they aren't contracted to another club they CAN play tomorrow on a "non-contact basis". Is that true?

Non-contact? Brilliant, why haven't we been fielding this kind of players before. Even monty should waltz through the defence if the opposition aren't allowed to touch him. :)

I believe Hugo might be Kruk himself

(Linz said he's on the board)

Let's get him to meet us, we'll tie him down and make him join us..... don't worry about DW, we will sort him

you say he can pass a ball? (not seen him yet).. well that's over for a start then
