Over 700 players released this close season and here we are bringing in all these trialists no one has heard of. I'm absolutely convinced there will be players desperate to play for us out of that 700+ lot that wouldn't cost the club a penny more than the trialists would cost, but would do a better job!

There are a few players we have signed more than once who were worth their second signing. Brian Deane and Keith Edwards spring to mind. But Kozzy? I sincerely doubt it.

However people may try to make something positive out of this, this is a dreadful signing. It leaves our back 4 at Kozluk, morgan, (no one), and taylor. This signing be it for 'back up' or not, is absolute shite. He will get games, and all this crap about him being good for morale and a joker in the dressing room really winds me up. Who cares if he's a laugh, he's not a good footballer which is what were paying him for, if people want a laugh then lets get toby foster down in the sessions, that'll make the lads laugh. People need to stop living in the past. For years he was distinctly average, then he was released and was just as average if not worse at barnsley (basically 2 relegations scrapping seasons) this signing and the lack of spending is starting to make me worry, were not going to be coming close to playoffs, never mind automatic unless we sign atleast 3 decent defenders and a quality cm and a good left winger.

I seem to recall him mentioning Newcastle and Cardiff. That would be two. How many goals had we conceded before he left? About 35, 40?
FFS it's completely ridiculous to be picking holes in Walker when we're now reduced to resigning Kozluk.
Mind you, he's probably the kind of bloke that would have thought Currie was lazy or Woodward didn't get stuck in enough.

This summer has been a major failure when we knew from four months ago where we'd be. We've gone on our pre-season tour with a nomark from Palace, a journeyman from Malta to satisfy the sponsors and the steady-eddie midfielder from Swansea.
The lack of scouting, organisation, contacts in the game is frankly appalling.

Why would we be signing any of them? We're in the Championship.
But then that isn't the point, is it?
Where are the clever lower league signings? Where's the sense of planning? A bunch of garbage foreign triallists? Is that really the best they could come up with?
It's absolute shite.
We knew full well where we'd be months ago but it seems they have done sod all in terms of genuine planning for next season.
It's all ad-hoc, let's see what turns up management. Three weeks before the start of the season and we're about to sign Kozluk. Says it all.

Mccabe has nothing to do with any of this anymore - its all Birch, mccabe wants rid, never mind the balls to do it. After wembley he should have got rid of blackwell, thats when he should have used his balls. The 'backroom sham' which i prefer to be known as Blackwell, controls and tells the 1st team, its what they call a vicious circle.

It's a good no lose signing. He will be on modest wages and is only here for one year (opposed to the stupid wages we were paying out to Hendrie for three years).

He isn't as good as Naughton or Walker but sadly they've gone and we should look at the here and now. I doubt he's going to be first choice but will be patient and happy to wait his turn and fill in, and if he gets the shirt and has a stormer then great.

Not quite sure what is happening across the road with our neighbours, I've heard one or two things little snippets regarding their future which seem to clash with their spending spree. I wonder if they're signing all these decent (ish) players to give themselves more assets as to if and when they go into administration?

Got to say Lenners has it spot on this time we have known since March what league we were going to be in and the planning has been frankly shit. Why do other clubs bring foreigners in that shine and players from Ireland such as Doyle? Why can't we? Why do we have to become a laughing stock by bringing in a player who was at best a squad player last time round?

Who and what is our scouting set up?

We start our pre season tour tomorrow in need of at least 3 more defenders and I for one won't be shocked when we hear - 'nothing better than what we've got' 'there's still the loan window' 'great bunch of lads' etc etc etc

Thats strange the ones I spoke to said he was terrible. My lasting memory of him was against West Brom in their penultimate game, and he was embarrassingly bad, even worse than Calvin Andrews which says alot!
