What does that tell yer ?![]()
Tells me that you always need to start a new thread when there are around 3 or 4 existing ones on the very same topic...
It tell us that we have taken a huge retrograde step at right back, even if he is only there to warm the bench. It's also quite a blow to Lawton who could do as good a job as Kozluk on less wages.
Finally, you are accepting that Kyle Walker was a truly brilliant player in second tier?
Don't think I mentioned Walker at all. Unless you are turning into Len and trying to misrepresent what I said. I never said Walker wasn't a very good player. I said he made big mistakes last season which cost us goals, his attitude wasn't good, and he wasn't learning from his mistakes. All of which were true and I still believe that his attitude deserve his being dropped for a game if his ego needed it.
Oh you think Kozzy is going to be our first choice right back. That was your first mistake, I made it quite clear I was talking about bench warming.I do apologise. I was thinking that Kyle was our RB for a decent part of last season and by saying our new signing is a huge retrograde step, I thought perhaps you were comparing him with Kozzy - unless you were talking about the magnificence of Connolly that is? Obviously I was wrong.
Kyle was our best attacking players and probably made up for his mistakes with assists. Not sure of the stats but to criticise his attitude is laughable for me. I assume you are trying to say he was cocky, thinking he was miles better than everyone else? Well for me he was miles better than anyone else. Often had to beat men due to a ridiculous lack of options in front of him etc. Dropping one of best players in the division - even Blackie wouldn't do that. Only real bad one for me was at Coventry - when he was playing at centre-back because our manager had failed to do his job and provide the club with a balanced squad of players.
Hilarious. We're resigning Kozzy and someone's dissing <some of> Walker's performances last season.
First class comedy posting.

I think I have been pretty constant on this opinion, and my opinion on Kozzy coming back. £3 Million was a good deal for Walker, and he isn't now worth the £5-6 Million Len and others were stating. This will be proven out at the end of the season when he leaves for nowhere near that amount.
I would agree, but I was mocked by your alter ego Len when I said Spurs won't get £5 Million for him. Then again Len was too busy laying into Bartley at the time.Fair enough re cheap shot etc - I knew you were talking about bench warming but can you at least accept that people (me anyway) were not saying he is now worth £5m after 6 months of basically not playing. He almost certainly isn't worth £5m now imo, I agree. The argument was that had he stayed with us and played a full season for us at the level he played at before the loan was terminated (ie 40 plus games in 9/10 under perhaps a new contract) there was a chance that Spurs or someone else would have paid £5m for him now. It is/was a totally different basis of valuing him to the one which I think you mention which is a scenario of Spurs moving him on this summer.

Bartley would be certainly a step forward, but with Noz on his way we might be decently covered at centre half. I just don't see why we are wasting money on Kozluk when we have decent kids to bring in.
Just to make my position crystal clear. I'd welcome Walker back, I think he is a good player, with great potential, but he needs to have a look at himself and decide how far he wants to go in the game.

Spurs won't get £5m for him? Who knows? Can't even see why how much Spurs will get for him is an issue.
Again not what I said, you really ought to learn to read what people are saying before you comment on it.we're now signing Kozzy and you're commenting on Walker not being up to scratch last season.
mainly because you said they would.

Who knows? Who really cares? We got £3m and that's that.
Obviously we're going to lose more than £3m for now being a much poorer side, failing to get into the play-offs, loss of season ticket sales, loss of commercial revenue etc, etc.
But those kind of things don't matter. We has got us our £3m.
Unfortunately having Walker doesn't guarantee you a playoff position never mind promotion to the PL. Unless you think it does, in which case I eco your its a funny world comment.
I thought you'd stay away from ST after your comment on how many we wouldn't sell, that Wednesday were selling more than us, and how we wouldn't get over 10,000 at the first renewal date.
What are the latest season ticket sales Bob?
How many's that then?
999 + 1 more down on this time last season.
More than you said we would sell.
I thought we'd be about 5,000 down, mebbes it'll be nearer 3/4,000.
Either way, it's a lot of people who've walked away and it'll be a damn sight harder getting them back.
You were talking of crowds under 18,000, and not getting as many renewals at Wednesday. That's close to 7,000 ST walking away. You are now saying 5,000 and then edging your bets on 3/4000. So that's 7000, 5000, 4000, and 3000, all covered. No wonder you always think you are right you don't give a straight answer and attempt to cover the bases.
Even if we took your 5000 down on last season that would make 14,000 ST a figure we have already past.
Given the current economic climate I would say a +90% retention rate is doing ok at this stage.
Blimey KB releases all the trialists as they werent up to much yet signs Kozzy???
Boy they must have been poor then, WTF are our scots doing???
