Hi All,
Just trying to clarify a few things regarding the layout/seating plan of the Kop.
For some unbeknown reason there is no bonafied 'seating plan' available for the Kop, there's a seating plan as in Kop, John St, Brammall Lane and South Stand, but none with detailed seat numbers etc...
Anyway, due to a few ST holders considering moving, and trying to get adjoining seats together, I am trying to get hold of some sort of plan, or else try and draft a little guestimate so we can decide whether to move or not - the deciding factor being, no surprise, the positions of those damn supporting pillars!
I've guessed that the kop's about 200 seats wide (any know exactly? anyone site on the very end seat?) and i'm guessing about 60 rows high (a-z, aa-zz, plus an extra eight-ten or so at the back - again does anyone know?), but that makes its capacity 12,000 which is about 2,000 too many i think, although i think the rows start at about B or C at the front?, and of course there's bits missing at the front wings and at the back for the gangways which lessen this.
Does anyone know the approx location (in terms of seat no.) of the two pillars?
I've guessed it (by looking at photo's and taking the above as estimates) that the one on the 'S' is on about seat 155 and the one next to the 'C' is on around seat 67?
Anyone know if this is accurate?
My first thought was to contact the club, but i think the only sure fire way is to go and look tomorrow or ask on here - not to seem pessimistic but i've asked for seats away from the pillars in the past at the box office, then lo and behold i'm sat next to the damn things, so i can never truely trust the judgement of the box office!
You'd have thought that a seating plan was available somewhere but it seems not, most clubs have their own detailed 'seating plan' available on the website, i would have thought United have one somewhere? I know the ticket sales in the ticket office show individual seats but not the online plans.
Anyway, cheers in advance for any help - much appreciated.
UTB!
