Hi All,

Just trying to clarify a few things regarding the layout/seating plan of the Kop.

For some unbeknown reason there is no bonafied 'seating plan' available for the Kop, there's a seating plan as in Kop, John St, Brammall Lane and South Stand, but none with detailed seat numbers etc...

Anyway, due to a few ST holders considering moving, and trying to get adjoining seats together, I am trying to get hold of some sort of plan, or else try and draft a little guestimate so we can decide whether to move or not - the deciding factor being, no surprise, the positions of those damn supporting pillars!

I've guessed that the kop's about 200 seats wide (any know exactly? anyone site on the very end seat?) and i'm guessing about 60 rows high (a-z, aa-zz, plus an extra eight-ten or so at the back - again does anyone know?), but that makes its capacity 12,000 which is about 2,000 too many i think, although i think the rows start at about B or C at the front?, and of course there's bits missing at the front wings and at the back for the gangways which lessen this.

Does anyone know the approx location (in terms of seat no.) of the two pillars?

I've guessed it (by looking at photo's and taking the above as estimates) that the one on the 'S' is on about seat 155 and the one next to the 'C' is on around seat 67?

Anyone know if this is accurate?

My first thought was to contact the club, but i think the only sure fire way is to go and look tomorrow or ask on here - not to seem pessimistic but i've asked for seats away from the pillars in the past at the box office, then lo and behold i'm sat next to the damn things, so i can never truely trust the judgement of the box office!

You'd have thought that a seating plan was available somewhere but it seems not, most clubs have their own detailed 'seating plan' available on the website, i would have thought United have one somewhere? I know the ticket sales in the ticket office show individual seats but not the online plans.

Anyway, cheers in advance for any help - much appreciated.

ooh, that did help actually Coops, like you say it doesn't show the pillars but does give you seat numbers and i think i might be able to try and work it out a little more accurately using that - didnt realise it told you the seat numbers once you selected an area of the kop - only bit missing is the exact pillars location now...

Cheers Coops.

Anyone else help any more with regards to exact pillar location?

This pic of the kop might help you out

I'd say looking at the seating plan to pic - the pillars are about row Q,R,S

* Just found some ticket details from the kop - previously sat row N, seat 37 (KF1 block on seating plan), and had no problems with the pillars, so any rows M,N,O,P,Q,R shouldn't have issues with the pillars. Should also be far enough back not to get soaked if pissing down!

From an old ticket I found I reckon the pillar by the 'C' is not far from Row P Seat 58. It might be exactly row P but I'm not certain. Your guess of seat 67 is pretty much spot on (give or take a few)

There's one a few seats to the left of me and a few rows back.
Hope that helps :-)

There is now 2 spare on gangway E row WW right by the steps ;)

Going to be weird when I come to matches now and not sitting there.

The seating plan on the SUFC website needs an overhaul to bring it into the 21st century.
A lot of clubs have a seat-by-seat plan (click on the one you want), they indicate which seats have restricted views and even have a photograph of the pitch taken from the seat so you know what your view will be like.

True Blades know which the restricted seats are. The rest have a fucking awesome view.

We had around 64 (can't remember which row) for a game a couple of seasons ago pillar went straight through BL end goal.

On the online booking facility, if you select 'view stadium plan' you can see every individual seat and its number.
Not certain if it shows the exact position of the pillars though to be honest ?

You can sit anywhere you like on the kop as long as the seat isn't taken.

Looking at the kop plan there's a couple of hundred or so tickets left in the back left section and very few elsewhere on the kop.

The new south stand is sold out and there are 2 seats left in the Bramall Lane upper.

John Street is not available on line so can't tell how many seats left in there.

Looking like a complete sell out to me so if you want to go and haven't already got a ticket I wouldn't waste any time getting online to buy one.

Got a ticket at 10am. Must have all gone since. Oldham will fetch 3 men and a dog and as someone earlier wrote we'll be staring at 3,000 empty seats on Bramall Lane, ridiculous

Wankers, knobs, twats, pussies, dicks and cocks please.
Definitely a seating plan for those will do nicely.

If the football's dire, at least i'll know where to look for my off the field match-day experience.

[It's LYDON whddya expecting!!]

Never sit on a seat ont Kop. Prefer to stand.

Stand in front of me on Kop and the next match you'll be listening to Keith Edwards while sucking ya match-day food an' drink thru' a straw on Huntsman Ward at NGH.

LYDON thinks he's 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.

I think the appropriate SRA riposte would be:
"Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough"

A tata and tata pie through a straw? Sounds like a challenge....
