Quite a loaded post but it's struck something with me so happy to debate.
I'll try and deduct from the term "chavs" it's a bunch of young lads who probably wear attire from JD Sports, secretly vape and spend more time on their phones than watching the match. Already confirmed some "industrial language" as our Sky Sports commentators like to say.
What you're describing is something I think this "great country of ours" needs to do more of. Get kids off the street and into sport, whether from a spectator point of view or participation. I'm not going to pretend I know the group or observed the group you're talking about, I didn't. However, they've clearly purchased their ticket legally, contributed to the club we all love and hopefully got some enjoyment out of the match or at least got some enjoyment out the evening with their mates. I've been to a few matches recently where I've had plenty of young'ns around me and sometimes wondered if they're here to support the team or just because it's something to do, but really, either way, it's good they're there and not loitering on some street corner with fuck all to hold dear except weed or Andrew Tate TikTok videos.
Bramall Lane should be a very safe, lively, supportive and interactive place for people to enjoy the company of friends and football, that should include young lads, old boys, families and you,
Chris the Blade. I'm sorry to hear that tonight you were probably left feeling a bit uncomfortable and bothered by those around you, and I do mean that. I do feel there's currently a bit of a divide in the stands as I found out a few months ago when I told the ref to "fuck off" and a couple of older gentlemen in front turned round with a bit of a frown about my language. It's something, I reckon, is quite hard to manage and I doubt their generation, my generation or the younger generation really know how to work out - and a reason I don't have much of a suggestion for you in how to avoid this at your next visit. The kop is obviously the cheapest ticket and at this time of year likely the only seats most can afford. One of the stewards might be open to you moving to a different area after half an hour or so if a different seat is available with your reasonings, could be an option in the future and something to try. The line-up (due to illness), result and performance likely didn't help but no-one should spend £40 odd quid to feel unsafe and uncomfortable at a blades match so hopefully if it does happen again, the stewards might be able to accommodate a move, even a few rows down, to an empty alternative seat.
