Cant see much happening in january
Clubs transfer policy and the staff involved in it are a jumbled up mess

One thing I've found odd for a while is the level of wages we pay. We can never offload anyone as we pay our players more than other clubs at the same level, yet you would expect the smaller clubs to have to pay higher wages to attract players.
We've offloaded a fair few in the past few months

I'd get them to stop talking about spending all the Murphy money whilst blatantly not spending any of the Murphy money.

like others, I don't want Jim or the club to say fuck all, unless it's to say that they have released a number of players. Whatever Jim says usually ends up being a lie, intentional or not.

Demanding money back though? It's all a bit daft.

We've been shit this season, but a midseason inquest just serves to make things worse. Jim Phipps took to Facebook exactly a month ago and he blamed Clough for all the failings, even the Paris attacks and they hadn't even happened.

How has it helped? It hasn't. Giving a £20 refund to 15,000 fans or whatever won't do anything. Will it make you happy for the defeat? If George long popped in and apologised with a £20 note would you be content? No of course not.

Last night is done for me, best thing they can do is say nothing, bring out a red and white kit and use the white away kit at Barnsley.... Then smash Barnsley to bits.

It will paper the cracks of course but it's also a start...

The only way to apologise is to win a game of fucking football.

Fine, but who's to say we won't have a new manager by the start of next season who will again want to build his own team? It's a never ending cycle of fuck ups at Sheffield United
This is the point. We have to make the decision on the manager for the long term success of the club. We've not done this for about 10 years.

If we sack Adkins (or previous managers) then perhaps we satisfy the short term, one
Month situation and we improve a few results, but long term it hits us hard.

By the end of the season, who will know the players better than Adkins and his coaching staff? Certainly not a new man coming in fresh. Adkins can then make decisions on playing staff for the following season.

The reason for Fergies success at Man U, warnocks and bassetts here was in a big way down to him knowing his squad and revitalising every 2-3 years

The quietness is the really worrying thing, I think there might be discussions about changing the manager, like we did with weir for clough, I got the feeling they regretted giving weir too long when he was clearly not functioning in the role, Adkins isn't performing, his signings ain't working out, the best of the bunch is billly sharp, and he's amazingly out of form in league one where he usually runs riot regarding goals.....

When they go quiet, it's cause they're planning changes, Adkins sounded a beaten man devoid of ideas in that last interview, and, whatever it costs, one manager is a hell of a lot cheaper than replacing a team....

Just in case you were wondering why we change managers so often...

I hated writing that, I wanted so much from Adkins...

For me the club need to make a statement right now . That is to say the board .

They need to apologise for last night first off and say it was totally unacceptable.

Seriuosly?.. Imagine if everytime a team suffered a shock /heavy defeat the board apologised.

What they need to do is pull their socks up and beat Barnsley. They need to kick and bleed for SUFC as that is what most fans want.
Pussy footing around, letting players who nobody has ever heard of wearing some blue/yellow sunday league monstrocity of a kit put 4 past you at home is unacceptable. It is also unacceptable that we dont have the fight, strength and ugliness about us anymore.

If every challenge had been like the one Hammond put in on the touchline then fans wouldve been happier because we put in some effort. Even if we lost 4-2, the fans would be more forgiving as sometimes football throws up random results. The big problem is, that wasnt random, teams know they can turn us over if they out muscle and out fight us. The best team won on Tuesday

The last thing I want at the moment is a statement from the club. I want them to sort this mess out, no more words.

I agree mate ...... the time for empty words and promises is WELL over !!!

NOW; is the time when the Board, the Manager and then the new squad actually deliver on the pitch, with no more crap about "we should be good enough to win football matches in this division". We aren't and that's been sadly evidenced so DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT QUICKLY Nigel !!

No more words just action .......

I think that Adkins gave the game away during his post match interview after the Port Vale game - "we have to get up this season"

I'm still on Nigel's side. I believe that he is a good manager (proved by his track record) that is struggling with a poor set of players at the moment. What I will say though....and this is where I'm constructively critical of him....he has to help himself and the first way of doing that is to stop selecting players that fail time and time again.

If I continue to see Freeman, Collins, McEveley, Coutts et al. selected then I will have no choice but to place responsibility on him. That being said....the board need to back him now and give him the funds to go and get replacements if he doesn't already have them and I don't think he does.
