I’m not sure where the fallacy that McCabe hasn’t attended many matches, including during the 6 seasons in League 1, has developed from.

As a centre South Stand season ticket holder, who tends to be in the ground an hour or so before kick-off, I can confirm that McCabe has attended far more matches than he has missed. He could invariably be seen bringing the day’s guests out of the Directors Box gangway to survey the scene before the ground started filling up.

Perhaps people assume that if he wasn’t pitch side at half-time presenting an over-sized cheque to some club or charity, then he can’t have been there?

In any event, it was notable that McCabe was in attendance at the Southampton game on Saturday with the prospective purchasers from the US.

Although judgment was only handed down on Monday, the parties will, of course, have had it in draft for up to 2 weeks beforehand. For McCabe to attend the match, therefore, with his US buyers, was a bold and defiant statement and it would appear to provide a clear indication of his intentions in relation to an appeal.

I sit behind the directors box and I am struggling to remember a game when I haven’t seen McCabe at a game over say the last 3 years. I know this won’t suit what you’re trying to say.

I agree with everyone that McCabe needs to drop this but everyone trying to blame everything on him or play tic for tac against the Prince is a bit shit too
 
Got to be honest that I'm a tad surprised with the criticism that McCabe has received this week. Yes he's played the I'm a local and love the Blades card but unless I'm mistaken I seem to recall that the vast majority on here wanted Kevin to win, even if it was better the devil you know?

Now the Prince has won and done a good interview, and may I add, I've been impressed too and with the fans forum which was a smart move, and McCabe's done a couple of interviews where he's not just walked away from it, our fans seem to be now turning on McCabe? I haven't heard anything from McCabe that has surprised me or disappointed me to be honest, although yes it would have been better to not hear McCabe saying that he didn't know whether Wilder is to stay. But I think in the circumstances of losing the Club he's owned for many years and put many millions into - yes I'm sure he's got some back too, or will do when he sells the assets - in a court case where he's been portrayed, rightly or wrongly, as a bully and someone who manipulates, I think McCabe's entitled to come out and have a response, even if as fans we don't want anymore bad press and just want to move on.

Aside of any potential appeal and assuming that the Prince is to be the owner for the feasible future, I wish him all the best, and as I said earlier, I've been impressed with the early signs.

He's been here 20 odd seasons. Prior to leaving Belgium he was never here.
 
Isn’t the key quality required in an owner how good he is at running the club, and/or appointing the right people to help him with that? Whether he attends games or not is irrelevant really. If Steve Dale had gone to every Rochdale match including the youth teams would that have made him a better owner?

I really don't. The only issue with McCabe I have is how he's acted since the judgement.

I never said 'NEVER', but it was definitely rare.

Perhaps if they did a bit of research they would realise getting a pro mcabe response from warnock was as likely as getting a pro sprouts response from me....

The bit that's got my back up is that his response includes raising unnecessary "questions" about Prince Abdullah's "suitability" based on nothing much (and conveniently glossing over the fact that he was the one who brought Prince Abdullah on in the first place) and insinuating that Wilder might not like the new direction.

If McCabe personally feels he's been badly characterised in the judgement and wants to try and set the record straight about himself then fine, you do you. But the above can't be anything but harmful to the club, its fans, its manager and its new sole owner.

Does it really matter how many times an owner attends as long as he runs the business properly. Man City's owner has attended one game since he bought the club they are doing quite well with one seat in the Director's box going empty .

That's not the point I was making, it was just in response to someone saying hrh has only been 6 times.
