He clearly based his view on Prince Abdullah’s wealth on someone else’s description, and on his general assumption that if he’s part of the Saudi Royal family he must be rich.

And then there was the incident in 2011 where a team from Channel 4's Dispatches posed as representatives of Chinese and Indian businessmen trying to buy the club, and where pictured on the pitch, facilitated by Bryan Robson of all people...

Robson and McCabes connection has always been there. Wasn't McCabe still keen to keep Robson even after he was removed as manager?

What's the club worth about 100m? 50 each, the prince easily doubles his contribution so should be happy. McCabe then sells the material assets, lets say 40m (not unreasonable), so he clears 90m overall, not every penny back but better than it could've been.

I think what caused the situation to get worse was the prince's reluctance to sell his half.

That said if McCabe had a good buyer (a buyer who genuinely had serious money) who would take the whole club then I am sure the prince would have been interested.

It's on long lease from him to the Club.
He might be the freeholder , but he's no rights to enter except in those limited circumstances prescribed by the lease.

Club co-owner's hat :
You might say that , until he actually sells his shares as ordered by the court , he remains 50% owner of the Club.
But that's pretty tenuous.
He's under a court order to transfer his shares to the Prince (forgotten the time limit for him to complete this , assuming the Prince is ready with £5m)

Indeed. In fact some were convinced he had accepted, as you can see below. Though that can’t be right, as McCabe would never allow that sort of role to potentially interfere with the manager – unless he’s suggested it of course.

McCabe seems to have lost a heck of a lot of support this week. Even from people who have supported him blindly for years. I'm not going to say I told you so to those people. I suspected it for a long time. He's embarrassed that it's been made so public.

Was listening to TS whilst driving to work earlier and they had Neil Warnock on. Alan Brazil asked him about the McCabe situation and how would it disrupt the team, fanbase etc to which Warnock quickly answered that he wasn't prepared to talk about Kevin McCabe but the ownership will make no difference to Wilder and the team.

I imagine this is what has prompted the need for PA and CW to appear at the press conference this afternoon. Once the press presumably see them working together it should put a halt to the sort of media speculation fuelled by McCabe’s comments on Monday.

I was going to make a glib joke about the price of fish not being subject to a non disclosure agreement but it occurred to me that Warnock was out of contract and just walked, so there wouldn’t have been one.

So, he’s either developed a bit of integrity or he’s saving it for his next book.

On this occasion you could argue that he has monumentally fucked up.
