I'd prefer a five (red) stripe shirt to a three - especially if the sponsor is going to be on a white oblong background - makes it look like a massive H from a distance.

It'd be worth keeping an eye out at the euros for the keeper kits, they are usually the same for all the teams supplied by adidas. I'm guessing it will be some thing like this though

Spot on. Only thing I would change would be to have the first stripe on the sleeve to be white. Would look strange, as it does there, having a red stripe next to red stripe with only a small triangle of white in between.

My take on it:

Aside from the adidas badge which I'd prefer to be symmetrically positioned to the badge, this is very cool. Love the subtlety of the sponsor too, makes such a big difference. Stick some black shorts with it and we'd have it nailed.

Why don't fans get a vote on a few options anymore, or even allow us to submit some designs, surely we're quite important to the sales of the thing?

its unfortunate but often the case. Bradford a couple of seasons ago had the same away kit as barcelona but in a different colour that was straight from the previous seasons nike teamwork catalogue. We'll probably end up with something very similar to Sunderlands home kit they've just had.

As I understood it they designed us a custom job last season off the back of impressive sales of the first Adidas home shirt. Unfortunately the pinstripes got tainted with the stink of failure and didn't sell particularly well so it'll be back to the catalogue next season. Chicken and egg situation.

Then the body is chosen from a catalogue of fabrics, Hence last season we got the standard "B Tier" collar from adidas taken by Fulham, Hearts, Ipswich etc and the standard pinstripe torso texture taken by Middlesborough, Forest, West Brom, West Ham and Ipswich. In fact we basically had the white and red version of Ipswich's Home kit :

There was a Brentford fan on here last year saying that their shirt was unique. It wasn't, it was derived as per above. A mixture of templates.

Not sure, I think late 60's or very early 70's. I was looking for a different image when I came across it, if you go to the Toffs website it should be on there as it was titled Toffs.
