A great friday night pub debate?

Brought this up with a pal, I would 100% say John Fleck. Kevin McDonald I remember as being a very classy player with a bit of a lazy style but obviously a very good eye for a pass, bit of an assit master, not many goals. However, when you remember that a lot of his time was spent sending Ched through (who then was a better player than Sharp is now, sorry if that upsets anyone but lets not forget he got 35 without a full season!) Then it makes me think his job was made a touch easier. Plus he couldn't tackle or was too laid back to do that side of the game and come to think of it, I feel like he didn't turn up in big games.

Fleck for me can pretty much do every prt of the game, and do it exceptionally well! Hes got everything and is a real leader too!

So there you go, id have Fleck, what about you?

Completely different players....a better comparison would be McDonald or Coutts.....
Take your point but not sure I fully agree, Fleck has got a stack of assists, Coutts probs a good handful, but see him more as the dictator. McDonald just sent through an eye of the needle pass asap

Different players, but on the basis of consistency over a season (not being a lazy cunt) and knuckling down to do the hard yards week after week there is only one answer and it aint a fucking burger.

I would say fleck was the best out of the two while they played for us. However think Macdonald has gone to another level since leaving us

Fleck is more of a jack of all trades; a bit of an all rounder, but McDonald's passing and ball retention was far superior.

I think both are good. McDonald was more the Coutts type though. Whereas Fleck drives forward more. When Fleck plays well we really play well. He's been a bit below his best in the last few games imo. Not bad - but not exactly on fire like he was a month ago.

To get United (and who else matters) out of the league with what they have to play with and the impact they've had it has to be Fleck. What a difference!

To take us out of the Championship next year then McDonald may be a better bet. But actually we can do better than both...

UTB

Fleck 100% for me! Macdonald is a very good player, but like said, bone idle. Fleck is a very good player, with an engine and passion.
