Forget everything else. Weir, McMahon, formation, referees, colour of the grass whatever you want to blame. The simple fact is the loss of the aforementioned player is the reason for this.
Now losing him was annoying, but the complete morons who were saying 'he isnt that good' and he 'only turns up one in ten' should hang your heads shame. He has carried is ever since we signed him and hopefully people, even the doubters, now realise this. What. Player he is/was and what a disgustingly bad team we are without him.

I love you SUFC, but we now have no players with any quality left since he left. But then, league 2 is fill of teams like so so we'll be rayt.

UTB

He was our best outlet. Always found space for himself, always wanted the ball and was the only one you could pretty much guarantee would retain possession, no matter how many players were trying to tackle him.

We should have built a team around him. Instead we let him go and haven't even looked like winning since.

we had more balance in the notts county game than any other, 10 men for an hour or not. mcdonald on his day was up there with cowans and even currie for me, how we could afford to lose a player like that when we are trying to play football is beyond me

No he hasn't.

This is a joke, right??!!!!

Currie and McDonald are light years apart. I can't believe anyone on earth could ever put the two in even remotely the same league.

We didn't look like winning against Burton, and he played in that match. And he also played in a lot of matches last season where we failed to look like winning or even scoring.

Sorry, I'm still in shock that someone could even in their wildest dreams consider that Mcdonald is anywhere near Tony Currie. Unbelieveable.

I'm sure TC had a shite most days?

if you had to name three creative central midfielders who had came after currie since he left he would have to be in the top three, defintely top two, debatably one.

Brown , Cowans and McCall were all better players than McDonald. And I haven't even had to start thinking yet.

The way your going on its like hes Maradona & we are Argentina 86.

Shut up you idiot.

Baxter is twice the player he is.

I never figured that you were a wind up merchant pup

Idiot? hmmm ...'Baxter twice the player he is' could qualify you for that label, but I'll give you a little more grace and not resort to that....
I kind of see where he is coming from in that MacD's influence on our game in the past two seasons was at times similar to that of Currie's in the late 60's and early 70's, rather than saying MacD is as good as Currie. Quite plainly that is not the case but when KM decided he wanted to take a full part he was a huge influence on our game plan and extremely effective, when he was in one of his disinterested moods, well.....
Similarly, surely those of us who cream our pants at TC's undoubted skills and influence over the good United team of the 70's, can also remember many days when his apparent disinterest and lethargy had people angry at his non contribution.

I would wager that Baxter will score more goals than Macd did in the same number of games.

Yes, Baxter and McDonald have done something Currie never did. They have both scored for Sheffield United in the third division.

Yeah because we sold him when we'd just finished our highest in my lifetime and dropped like a stone within three years, y'know, the Bladesway

McDonald isn't even in the Top Ten players from Scotland, never mind Top Ten midfielders. Currie, Brown McCall, Tonge, pre-defence Jags, Booker, Bryson, Curtis Woodhouse, Dane Whitehouse, Geoff Salmons, both Quinns, and many, many more.

He's not the Messiah. he's not even close enough to be considered a naughty boy. In the history of Sheffield United, Kevin McDonald will be a small footnote at best.

On an entirely different subject, if you're going to drink in the morning then perhaps a cup of tea, or maybe coffee, would be preferable to either a twelve pack of Special Brew or in this case what appears to be some kind of industrial solvent in large quantities.
