Just watched a recording of the Chesterfield v West Ham match and Kevan Hurst, from what i could see on the telly, was outstanding.

I didn't make it out of work in time to get to Bramall Lane last night so instead sat down 10 minutes into Chesterfield / West Ham - I'm kinda glad that's how it worked out to be honest.

Kevan Hurst was class and was more deserving of MOTM than Folan. He beat his man with pretty much every attempt and got a decent cross in every time. Now I know West Ham are playing particularly badly recently but still, he's gonna make a great player at a high level.

He'll never get a game under warnock, sold to scunny for 100k probably.

He's already had a "first team" appearance under Warnock.

Saw last night with Nicky Law why we can't just throw them straight into the first team, Danny Webber played him a quick pass which the other players in his vicinity reacted to, whilst Nicky was oblivious to it.

They need first team games to get up to speed with the league games and to build strength.

It remains to be seen if he gets a prem start although wouldnt surprise me if sharpy is right.

haha:D You cant say he isnt good enough yet because of one pass he didnt read! I could say that about most of the players in our current squad.

Law was far better than most of our other older proffesinals last night.

One swallow doesn't make a summer, Hurst was very good the other night but every other time i have seen him play for Chesterfield he has struggled to make an impact. I don't see him making it into our first team squad and expect chesterfield to take him permanantly.

i'm not saying he isn't good enough, i'm saying thats why we can't just throw them into the first team. Their inexperience at a proper competetive level.

He's just a KFC munching girly hair :D

Chicken and egg scenario, if we only ever blood the youngsters in the early round of the cup this will invariably see them get 3 games a season maximum. If they are good enough, they can make the step up (gradually mind) into the first team - therefore one can only assume we are yet to produce anyone good enough.

Ooo... don't let Sharpy hear you say that ;)

All the youngsters are the next TC/George Best/Pele/Maradona/God in his eyes, it's just that Neil Warnock can't see it ;)

Funny how the players never given a chance would have made the difference, Simon Fancis isn't exactly pulling up trees at the minute but i remember a time when everyone was calling for him to be given a chance. I trust Neils judgement, it has rarely been proved wrong (with outgoing players) in the past.

Right now i'd settle for a youngster that is the next Michael Brown, but the next Pele/Maradonna would do nicely.

Another of Sharpy's ex-loves :D

If we played all the kids, we'd win the Premiership for sure!

It is indeed, which is why i'd prefer all the risk to be on a third party, rather than the Blades first team :)

IE - do what we are doing now, send them out on loan to gain experience :)

Have to agree, unless we have an exceptional candidate then i feel loaning the youngsters out is the best option. If they can't cut it for the likes of Chesterfield and Southend then they shouldn' get anywhere enar the first team anyway.
