Now that would be extraordinary.

A player gets a drugs bust, ponces a seasons wages of us (all bar two games) and has the brass neck to insist on a release clause in his new contract.
I would sooner have activated the release clause that his gross misconduct would have triggered and sacked him without a penny.

But he didnt get any wages whilst he was banned did he?

i've seen plenty arrive and plenty leave ............. same owd..... oh hang on not same owd...sumtimes the ones that arrive are betterf than the ones that leave.

I know its a bit leftfield but getting panties in a wad over a Sitwell rumour (100% sure its a rumour) just seems a bit premature.

Brownies coming back next week 99% fact. :)

I really don't know sometimes why I bother ,I certainly won't from now on.
Save the mesage boards for discussions on LOST and favourite chippies FFS ;-(

Don't be so precious FFS, its not the rumour (we all hear em and spout em) its the reaction. Although its always good to get a reaction :)

If Monty goes there will be a mixed reaction based upon your own individual perception of him as a player, and that's up to you. I like him, but that's me. If he does go after the years he's been here then I'd like to wish him well at whichever club called Leeds or Q.P.R. he ends up at.

But if Paddy Kenny goes then i think he'll be regarded in a very bad light by most Blades. As fans and as a club we have stuck by him throughout his ban, and for him to leave would be yet another sign of the decline of the footballing spirit of times past to the modern money-is-all way of thinking.

I hope they both stay. But if they don't they'll get very different receptions if they return for a different club.

Agree, and I think at least one will be staying. Well I'm 99% sure if that counts for owt.

not like warnock is going to know paddy's agent is it, having managed him at two clubs, obviously been tipped off about it....

Did NW bring Paddy from Bury to United? There is a good chance that Paddy and Colin have a very good professional relationship. Paddy might want to move. This seems fair enough. He wants to go to a more ambitous club, probaby on better wages, work with a better manager and increase his chanc of having one more shot at the big time. There is of course the whole moral debate after United decided not to sack him. However, I still feel Paddy is good enough for the Prem and wouldn't blame him for wanting to get there with a better team.

Couple of thoughts. What does McCabe think? If we can flog him for 750k and bring in someone for a free then I'm sure he'd be up for that. Has Paddy said anything? Did he pleage his future for the club a few months ago and has he said anything since? Basically it's all just speculation.

Would NW not be better of going for Speroni? He's a god keeper and Palace are cash strapped, plus he worked with him recently. If not, then how about Speroni as Paddy's replacement?

>And lack of interest in Monty - are you joking? He's one of the most in demand players in the Championship
says his agent..

I'm not gonna moan if any of our players leave. If they want to leave, then let them. They won't leave unless they want to. If they choose to, then, goodbye and good luck. Let's get a replacement in who wants to be here and give his all.

Our players always want to leave, theyre never edged out to get the club a few quid, are they?

Most will leave in search of more money.

Anyone who thinks players are always as loyal to the club as say Morgan then they are deluded.

Most of our players are loyal or appear to be loyal purely because there is not a better option out there for them.

Still 100 % ?

You couldn't dream some of this stuff up. Paddy Kenny down and out, career looking like it might be over gets offered a contract for Sheffield United. 'United saved my career' says Paddy. Still, in that contract there is a 750k release clause. It's cheeky of him/his agent to ask for that, but what idiot accepted it. The same idiot that also forgot to ask for a non release clause in Kyle Walkers 'season long' loan. Good work!?

I'm not someone who has criticised McCabe and crew for recent dealings and nor will I know. However, United never cease to amaze me with their lack of commercial nouse. I'll wait an see until if Paddy goes and who wew bring in before I make a judgement, but I don't like the sound of this.

We shouldn't under estimate the possible impact of him going though. A lot of people underrated Paddy and we really misssed him last year. We took him for granted and it took for him to be out for us to realise. Brining in the likes of Bunn made us realise even more. It wouldn't be the end of the world and there are replacements out (Speroni is one that srings to mind and keeps getting mentioned) but this hardly seems like a positive move from a club with a thin squad who are trying to rebuild.

Ignoring the fact that we don't actually know for sure there is a £750k release clause or any details surrounding his contract... Do you think they just stupidly sign these things? or there may be more reasoning behind it? such as getting the player to actually sign or in the case of the Billy Sharp loan agreement - Donny paying his full wage for the duration.

You're miles off Foxy, SUFC were in a massive position of power over Kenny and that is the best fee they came out with?! Jesus I should have tried to negotiate the price of my season ticket with SUFC, could have got them to pay me.

The key factor being, at this moment in time, you have absolutely no idea if a clause exists, never mind the rest of the terms of his contract.

I'm saying that the club can't just pick and choose what terms we want if we want to ensure we get players. Players and their agents always have power, though it's going to be a lot less this summer.

That's fair enough and I've jumped the gun. That said I looked for some clarification on the SUFC website, and all I found out was some Fradi player has signed a new deal. :/

Kenny to Qpr when he returns from holiday next week 99%
Monty to Leeds from an ex player at the Lane 95%.

Dont believe Paddy is going. That ex player at BDTBL certainly has told a great many people, this must be twenty times I have heard that.
