Good, it won't clash with the Play Off final then.

Hope they do manage to get it on at the Lane. The only thing against it is the potential for rain. If would only be those in the posh seats on the pitch that got wet though

I don't quite know how the piggies are going to deal with this now that BDTBL has been confirmed as the city's premier sporting venue. Especially since their once-premier sporting venue has degenerated into a dilapidated death-trap.

They'll make some shit up, like they usually do.

I don't know if The Star is just rehashing the Mail story from last week but they're running it today saying it's a definite.

The Star - Proudly giving you the news that every fucker and his dog knew last week, as ever.

Sooner that rag closes down for good, the better.

Eddie Hearn tweeted last night that there is news coming this week of Brook v Spence.....I think it is pretty much agreed and signed off.

I think they have always been confident but it is now finally set in stone which adds a bit of validity to it all (for once cos The Stir is w*&k)

Well the DM said it was waiting on council sign-off which they were hoping for early this week. The Star article doesn't make it clear if this latest piece is as a result of this council certification being granted or not, but putting 2+2... perhaps?

I've just done a quick Google search and no one else is reporting anything. Either The Star have got an exclusive from their contacts at the council or it's a re-hash.

It has actually updated from the first time I looked to say there's a press conference on Wednesday to announce it. So I guess sign off granted.

You'd think the Star would be able to get some exclusives from SUFC, Hearn, Brook and Spence and both promoters/trainers . They do have a fight to sell out. Then again, this is the Star were talking about.

Exciting news! A world title fight at Bramall Lane. It could be a totally memorable "once in a lifetime experience".

Have we ever hosted boxing before? Another chapter in the storied history of our unique ground.

Fight is 27th May at the lane. Licences granted by council, press conference on weds. Spence flies in tomorrow morning for media duties, Undercard details are still being finalised. Will be alot of local lads on the undercard. Dont expect a big undercard. Fight is ppv on sky. Thats all the info so far. UTB

Do Blades fans (season ticket holders) get first chance to buy tickets?

No.Matchroom fightpass members get 1st dibbs online. Day after is public general sale. The club will be selling tickets from the ticket office. Tickets also available from stubhub at face value until its a sell out. Then stubhub will raise prices to £300 +. Cheapest way for fans is to purchase from the lane.

I suspect the ring will be halfway between the halfway Line and the Bramall Lane end penalty area based on where they put the ring at Goodison park for the Bellew fight, meaning the best seats to view will be in Bramall Lane end upper and Corner stand.

I can't see them using the Kop at all or putting the ring in the centre circle unless demand indicates a sell out which with seating on the pitch would mean about 40,000 wanting tickets. Can't see this doing more than 20k tops as most casuals won't know enough about Spence.

I believe the license is for 29k capacity which im assuming includes pitch seating. No clue on the amount of seats will be on the pitch but not selling on the kop corner, bramall lane lower or higher and the bramall lane corner takes the stand capacity down to around 26.5/27k. Hopefully it can sell out will make for a good atmosphere.

This will be a good do. Big screens all around. Loads of Blades and Brook fans. A couple of ales.

What's not to like? (Apart from the price....)

Eddie Hearn has confirmed that talks are underway between the club and himself over a possible Kell Brook fight being held at the Lane. Early indications suggest any fight could happen late may, even 4th of June been touted as a possible date by Eddie.

What kind of capacity could Bramall Lane hold for an event such as a boxing match? I know they did a stunt thing at the lane at the start of this season and that didn't really pull a crowd in, but i'd suggest Kell Brooks fight would have quite a big interest, so interested to know if anyone knows what sort of capacity we'd be looking at.

We should find out if indeed the fight will be at Bramall Lane tomorrow.
Hope it`s against Tango.
