Keith Edwards

I don't mind Keith Edwards' commentaries apart from the fact that he does go on a bit, and he has a few bees in his bonnet that he trots out every time.

As a qualified coach, Blackwell made some interesting comments about tactics, formations, positional play, etc. which I found refreshing. He didn't seem to identify with the Blades, though, and stayed very neutral.

True he does get on his soapbox a bit but most of the time he comes across OK.

I couldn't really bare Blackwell's commentary and thought it was cringe worthy because he was right in some of what he was saying but I was just thinking "Why did you never do these things when you were in charge then?"

Also Keith, times have changed, and the game has changed since you were playing so get used to it coz the good old days aint coming back. No matter how much you lament about it.

His stock reply when the lads are taking the piss is "three golden boots" so good luck with that one :D

Even Micalijo thought Edwards was overly negative on Saturday...

I agree with Sitwell and Silent about his behaviour around the time he applied for the manager's job but the worst for me was when he said he hoped we would draw our crucial promotion game v Hull in 2006 because he'd got a soft spot for both teams.

Does anyone remember him scoring a first half hat-trick against Southampton? under Cec Coldwell??? If I've got that right, I was in the Bramall Lane stand and there was a rainbow that ended in the penalty area at the Shoreham Street end that day.

Under Cec Coldwell, we beat the Saints 3-2 in October 1977. The scorers were Gary Hamson, Woody and Edwards. All our goals were scored in the 1st half at the Lane end

It's a fair enough reply though. How many other players have got three golden boots?
Or more to the point, how many golden boots do the lads propping up the golf club bar have between them?

Yea

Yeah he did a lot for us Blackwell didn't he? what with his coaching experience, knowledge of tactics and positional play. Should have been a doddle in the play off final eh.
