I'm literally considering mutilating my own face while I listen to this match, just to deal with this tedious little pessimist's constant moribund tone of voice/bullshit commentary.

We score an equaliser against the run of play and he still persists on nosily devouring his perpetual shit-sandwich

Can we have KB back please.

There is no stronger evidence against Keith Edwards than the fact that Blackwell, in comparison, was actually good. It was a relief to hear Blackwell's voice. This is the only time it has ever/will ever be a relief to hear Blackwell's voice.

God, as soon as the full-time whistle blows there is no sweeter feeling than turning the radio off (well maybe apart from bricking it when Keith is mid-sentence)

Fits Radio Sheffields agenda perfectly. Have a boring little curmudgeon commentating on United and an over-excitable plank commentating on Wendy.

No wonder they're massive...

Keith Edwards is the business and knows what he is talking about - tells it like it is.

Keith Edwards, Keith Edwards, Keith Edwarrrrds.

Keith Edwards, Keith Edwards, Keith Edwarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrds.

That is all.

Perhaps that's because he's commentating on a shit team. Good on the man for telling us as it is and not what the clappers want to hear.

I like Keith Edwards. He is measured and reasonable and he doesn't talk shit like that idiot that does the pig games.

He doesn't say what I want to hear but fair play to the bloke for saying what he sees good or bad. today's game sounded truly awful as it usually is at Scunthorpe where you have to earn the right to play the pretty football. That said the referee did us no favours and we will be appealing both red cards but we did nothing to help ourselves, why get involved in a battle which will suit the other team and away from home too. Obviously the ref was a "homer" we did well to get a point with nine men when for most of the game the Scunny back four had an easy time of it.

I wouldnt say we were involved in a battle ,it was strange ,the sending off werent due in bad temper in a fast game because the heat made it a slow paced game. They are the worse side Ive seen for a few years but get a massive advantage playing at that ground ,which is too tight for professional football. Could nt see Doyles for a bloody stantion but Flynns was very close to me ,he only had eyes for the ball and didnt actually make contact ,that didnt stop their wanker rolling around like hed been shot. McMahons booking was best ,if getting your shirt grabbed and being threatened is a yellow card. Deserved it for sticking in and Howard only had one save to make.

You need to ask Raul about his colourful language when we met him at Leyton Orient, and asked him his verdict on Simmo after he had cost us with a mistake that had led to a 96th minute equaliser.

I'm sure Keith will be delighted to be told tomorrow night you're all talking about him :)

Sorry I beg to differ. In defence of Keith, the guy's a legend and he knows the game inside out. It seemed to me that he called it how he saw it, which is his job.

if he knew the game inside out wouldnt he be better off in management?
By that argument I should expect quite a few of the posters on here are also football managers. ;)

To be fair though I don't know what KE's personal post playing career aspirations are. I do know however that not all footballers wish to become managers, and being a good player doesn't necessarily equate to good manager anyway.

Edwards lost me when he embarrased himself ,applying for the managers job when warnock was appointed and his reaction after.

He hasn't got any apart from living on past glories on Radio Pig. He drives a van these days for someone who gave him a job at his place because he plays golf with him.

Yes, I remember Edwards' interview on Look North just after Heath's sacking. The presenter asked him what kind of manager the club would need. Edwards (I dont think he was a qualified coach at the time and had no managerial experience) answered by saying that he should get the job and talked about what he would do. I was so embarrassed cos he was sort of belittling the club and he thought he was the only person that would turn things round. He was a hero of mine and since that embarrassing interview I had lost a lot of respect for him

Is that why he asks the barmaid at the local golf club her view on the players because unless he's getting paid for commentating, or being at Bramall Lane in some corporate capacity, he doesn't watch United nor any football at all? ;)

I don't mind Keith Edwards' commentaries apart from the fact that he does go on a bit, and he has a few bees in his bonnet that he trots out every time.

As a qualified coach, Blackwell made some interesting comments about tactics, formations, positional play, etc. which I found refreshing. He didn't seem to identify with the Blades, though, and stayed very neutral.

Listened to the Scunny broadcasters due to the 10 minute delay on our game.It made a nice change to Edwards although like the guy he does tend to go on too long instead of keeping up with the action.Blackwell also made some insightful comments and still refers to the Blades as we.

On Friday I was driving up the M6 and had Radio Stoke on, they have Praise AND grumble ,it was so much more informative and interesting than the shock jock approach from Radio pig ,Adams is doing a great job at Port Vale btw. Then I switched to Radio Manchester which had equal coverage of Bury and Rochdale as the Manc teams ,it was also well presented, interesting and informative ,no Brian the blade or Rob Satan or any other nobs who just want to hear their own voices. Paul Walker as Sports editor should be fired for the way the programme has deteriorated under his tenure. Giddings is the only one with any real football interest in my opinion ,and he should be the only one kept on, the main man at Radio pig could really do with listening to these other stations and comparing before he starts getting only 2 callers a night.

Sorry to say it but Keith Edwards' commentaries have started to really wind me up. He seems to jump on the first piece of negative play he notices and that's the tone set for the rest of the match. No matter what happens throughout the rest of the game it's all doom and gloom.
Also Keith, times have changed, and the game has changed since you were playing so get used to it coz the good old days aint coming back. No matter how much you lament about it.
