Great player for us. One of those names that was ever present on the team sheet in the program. Solid, reliable, calm and steady. A major player in the side when we finished 6th.

Yes he did. Charlie George scored Derby’s equalizer on his Derby league debut.

Yes that's right.
I felt absolutely gutted by his equaliser, and three days later, his old team Arsenal mauled us 3 1 at Lane, the first time I saw a grown man weeping (in BLUT).

Yeah I was given a real rude awakening, as a boy I had only known United as a decent Division one side. Huge shock to watch the very poor season.

I travelled down from a family holiday on the Isle of Arran for the match.
Hell of a journey but any problems were eased as my new girlfriend moved in for a week as my parents were still away.
