The keepie uppie guy, Dan Magness (thanks Google)...He was brilliant....well done to whoever arranged that one
He was very good, the Vale subs were watching him, one threw a ball to his mate, it hit him on the knee and bobbled away

They both laughed

I've seen him on tv before, traveling the world meeting other football jugglers. Big red I think he's called-seems a nice kid too.
Wish we still had ndlouv, he would have loved to have had a keepie-up-off at half time

My keepie uppie at half time is doing the beer run for the lads and not spilling any

It was a nice display for the south stand. They'd have been better off letting him do it in the centre circle.

Oh no it wasn't! He did it right next to the retractable tunnel (which no one thought to retract), so much of the Kop end of the South Stand could just see a ball bobbing up and down, propelled as if by magic.

:)

Better still get the big screen working again, what up with it? Not paid the rent to Darlington?

I believe the young people call it Freestyle.

I vaguely remember dozens of Argentinian kids sitting down and doing keepie-uppies at the opening ceremony of the World Cup in 1978. After that, nothing for a long time till Mr Woo appeared...

(The video was posted in 2006 but may date from earlier.)

Not sure if this is what inspired the freestylers.

There's also great little film called In the Hands of the Gods where a group of freestylers travel to meet Maradona who was their inspiration. I'd say that's well worth catching if if you're interested and you get a chance.

(I might be imagining things but I thought this was all part of trying to build a positive atmosphere around the game.)

I second the watching of in the hands of the gods

It was good, I'd like to see the club showing off our own academy lads talents as well though. Perhaps getting a few of them doing keepie ups or cross bar challenges etc

It'd get them used to playing to a crowd at the very least

Yes, they were doing that in front of Bobby Charlton who was on the pitch wearing his suit. Tried to find the footage in youtube last year but couldnt find it
