Keeper situation

Worth keeping an eye on Jamal Blackmans progress after his injury. Just been loaned out to Vitesse to get him playing again, 26 years old and he may be one Chelsea consider letting go. I rated him when he was at the lane but it depends on whether he has recovered or will ever recover.

Anyone following Jamal on social media will know he's up to very little at the moment.

By the way I am not disputing whether that is right or not, it just a sickening thought when he hasn't proved anything in the top flight at the point when he signed that new contract

After yesterday you cannot dispute the value of a quality keeper. They get you points. All players make mistakes and keeper mistakes will almost always lose you points. Hendo is a quality keeper but he is not ours. I am assuming we are in the premiership next season. So next summer we need an early deal with Man Utd for another Hendo loan or we need to spend big and buy a quality keeper. I see Middlesbrough need to offload in January to keep to FFP They look likely to sell Darren Randolph Should we be competing with West Sham for his signature? Who else would you be looking at? Ben Foster mentioned last week but is he past his best?

I played 5 a side from 16 to 33 year old. Our GK packed in and the team folded within a year. A good GK is an absolute must

Man u reportedly gave alexis sanchez a contract on over £20m per year.

Why would they sell Henderson for 1 years worth of wages for alexis sanchez.

They're not a normal club. They don't need the money and unless a player is not wanted by them or kicks up a fuss to leave then there's no reason for them to sell if they don't want to.

To be fair, he’s only 26. It’s a bit early to write him off as shit when it could easily be put down to a loss of form. There isn’t a keeper in history that didn’t have a bad spell.

Henderson should be our number 1 keeper target for next season or even January, but if we are looking for a cheaper option then Butland will surely make the short list.

Butland does fit the profile for us, great promise but fallen away in a crap team. Henderson has too many ricks in him for a £20m keeper (FL'sC,Scousers ,Toon) Might be worth a Jan bid with Leon or Billy going the other way, Stoke are desperate for proven goalscorers.

Hudson-Odoi is on 120k PW (I don't think he had made a premier league appearance when he signed that contract). The players have them bent over when their contracts are running down and can ask for obscene wages. The club either agrees or they lose them for nothing.

He was all set to go to Germany as he couldn’t see a pathway at Chelsea. Apparently Sarri was told he HAD to play him. Jadon Sancho did a massive favour to all young players when he took his career into his own hands and refused to arse around in the u23s when he should be playing first team football.

I can't see it happening. If OGS stays as manager I can see him playing for them either next season or the season after. De Gea will leave soon as he'll have one big money move left.

On the outside chance they would sell him we'd pay a lot and there would be a buy-back clause inserted. I really don't think Henderson would come to us permanently.

Foster/Randolph possibly both and would be able to get them in for a good price.

Deano attracting big attention and rightly so, the problem with our loan is were just improving him for another team but it suits us both as we aren't in a position to buy someone that's going to command a 25-30m fee plus 50-60k a week and thats fine, he's been fantastic for us but i can see a big European club fancying a chance on him.

I reckon they finally settled on £50k a week after initially asking for £75k. Remember before he came back to Utd this season, Man Utd wanted a £3million loan fee plus his full wage paying, as we were now a Premier League team. I think we finally agreed to pay his astronomical wage but no fee.

As you say, it is outrageous that a goalkeeper untried in the Premier League can command such a salary, but we are talking about a club that happily pays De Gea £350k a week, so I suppose its all relative

Henderson has a bit of a quandary ahead of him. He's obviously had his sights set on playing for Man Utd for quite some time now but unless DdG is sold, his only real option would be to settle for being second choice and playing a handful of cup games next season (with their chances of securing European football looking doubtful). As good a keep as he is and as much as he's improving, he's not going to dislodge DdG any time soon. So what does he do? Back himself and stay at Man Utd, agree to go on another loan whilst waiting in the wings, or decide to move on and if so, where to?

A wrong choice could not only impact his game time/appearances in 2020/21 but his development and involvement in the national squad.
