Henderson is a good goalkeeper and has age on his side but he isn’t the only good goalkeeper in England out there.

Where has this £20m number come from? Pickford went from Sunderland (needed to sell) to Everton for £25m, he wasn't the established England keeper then either. Man Utd don't need to sell Hendo so why would they only want £20m for him?

Get Hendo signed for whatever they want FFS. That back 6 of ours is a huge reason why we are where we are today.

I rather have one from Fleck like the pass to Mousse last week than 10 sideways shunts from Henderson. Fewer saves may well be down to a better defence. I agree you can’t just judge a goalkeeper off of how many saves they make.

I would like Henderson permanent but I don’t think we should pay over the odds in a fee and wages for him. He’s a good goalkeeper with potential to be even better but he isn’t the only one out there.

If we’re looking at signing a keeper from a relegated club, we might as well put in a bid for Jack Butland. With the position Stoke are in they are far more likely to sell at a reasonable price than a newly relegated club.

I seem to recall that before he came back to us for this season he signed a new contract at Manure and it was said that he was on wages of £70/75,000 a week. I don't know what our top players are on but I bet it is not that much. £50k? I think our problem is not the fee but the wages as he is out of line with our wage structure and it would likely cause unrest in the dressing room if he came in on a lot more than the rest of the team and if every one got a rise to an equivalent level that would probably increase our wage bill by £30 mill plus a year.

While I agree with most of that, I don't agree that Deano is better than Dubravka. Those saves he made against are what he does a lot of, I do however think Deano can become better than him.

His agent wanted £75k an increase from £25k a week. Hendo got £50k and we are paying for all of that at the moment. If Henderson moves again he'll be looking for an increase in wages that will take him out of our price range. With the likes of Bayern Munich supposedly interested his agent will aim to maximise wages and contract length. At the moment Henderson wants to play for Man U. Our quandary is do we keep with loaning him or look for a long term replacement. The Dubai trip suggests its the latter but we have to hope Ben Foster is not the No.1 goalkeeper solution.

We shouldn’t forget that modern goalkeepers also have to have footballing skills. They are effectively a sweeper, need to be comfortable on the ball and able to play out of defence. He’s a great shot stopper but has some way to go to build his distribution ability.

To be fair, he’s only 26. It’s a bit early to write him off as shit when it could easily be put down to a loss of form. There isn’t a keeper in history that didn’t have a bad spell.

Henderson should be our number 1 keeper target for next season or even January, but if we are looking for a cheaper option then Butland will surely make the short list.

Worth keeping an eye on Jamal Blackmans progress after his injury. Just been loaned out to Vitesse to get him playing again, 26 years old and he may be one Chelsea consider letting go. I rated him when he was at the lane but it depends on whether he has recovered or will ever recover.
