Does he really believe any of that?

Does he really believe that the fans will let him keep his Job?

I think the next thing he will be building will be ikea furniture.

The one positive to that article is that he says he'll be looking at getting people in early. Too many times have we left it until the last minute to bring in no-marks that nobody's ever heard of. This season, I don't think I'd heard of any of the summer signings, Evans, Williamson, Reid and Taylor (for Christ's sake) and none of them have been a massive success to say the least.

Let's get in there early and take the best players before everyone else does.

His next job should be getting a few cardboard boxes and black bags and clearing his office out ... go away !

One of the main problems for managers of play-off final teams is that until the final whistle they have no idea what division they will be in next season and therefore what their budget will be. They have less time than either the teams that go up or the teams that don't to sign players, for they don't know if they'll have to be frugal or can spunk away their Sky telly money. At least now Blackwell can try to build a side on the cheap with plenty of time on his hands.

He will have more time but I can't see him (or the club) being an attractive destination.
I can't remember any of our former players giving him praise and his recent comments about only buying who was available can't have helped.

At least he is saying the right things. Whilst I don't want him to stay, if he is going to stay then I am happy enough with his comments.

It doesn't look like he is going anywhere - like it or not - so we have to try and get behind the lads next season and give the newcomers a chance.

Up the Blades.

The problem is he has signed most of the current team. And then doesnt think they are good enough.

Get lost Blackwell!

Yes at least the players we sign in the summer will know ... that they are from the scrapings in the bottom of the barrel.

One of our (and Blackwell's) problems is that we think we are still a Premiership club.

If we can lose that mindset then KB's words sound quite reasonable.

The trouble is that he's hardly delivered on his promises in the past. Can he get it right next season?

Like he said we'd be looking at width and quality over quantity at the start of last season?

14 players in the summer sounds a lot, but I've got to say I kind of like this Sheffield United. Buying lower league players, expecting mid table finishes and sticking it to the better off big boys. It's kind of what I'm used to.

That said Blackie buying these players is the one downside.

You could just about stomach it under Warnock, as (for the most) we showed some spirit even in defeat. And occassionally we would stick it to the big boys - or anyone for that matter.

Under the current regime, we're limp and couldn't stick it to anyone.

Only brought in Sun Jihai and Halford?

What about Cotterill, Henderson, Haber and Spring as summer signings?
Coupled with bringing in Howard, Dyer and Stokes only a couple of months later.

For me Blackwell has brought in a lot of players this season, now for whatever reason, he is having to 're-build' again. Why weren't we signing the right sort of players when these players were being signed?
Or are the likes of Jordan Stewart and Andy Taylor the way forward for us?
