PALMER TO JOIN ROVERS

Chelsea’s young midfielder Kasey Palmer is joining Blackburn Roverson a short-term loan deal until Christmas, Sky Sports News has learned.

The deal won’t be completed until after the weekend. Palmer spent the second half of last season on loan at Derby County, and earlier this month it looked like he was bound for Pride Park again to join up with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard.

But the 21-year-old will instead head to the North West for four months, once the paperwork is completed on Monday.

Doubtful. They haven’t signed anyone and it’s an ageing squad in parts.

Wigan are the only promoted side who might finish in the top half for me.

Just checked and their average age is 26.

Of the players over 30 (5), 2 of them a very good. Captain Charlie Mulgrew (32) and Peter Whittingham (33). PW has always been a solid championship player.

Concern for them has got to be where their goals will come from. If they can get a striker in to score 15 goals, I think they will have a good season

But he’s had a season in League One now and getting no younger. Mulgrew much the same.

Exactly - can’t see them scoring anything like the goals needed for top 6 with 32 yo Danny Graham upfront.

It’s largely the same squad that took them down with the additions of Dack and Whittingham
 
Whittingham couldn't even get in their team last season.
 
Aye, confirmed this afternoon. Good signing for them and great move for him, he'll get game time.

Of the Brizzle boys I thought the lad on the left in the number 3 shirt looked very lively at the Lane. He was quick, incisive and all over the place. Cant remember his name but on loan from Chelsea I think

I thought Adam Webster was really good too. Another who’d fit in perfectly for us.

Does seem strange especially if we have interest in him. Would fit the mould though if a technical athlete wilder now talks about
 
Aim higher folks!

Casey Palmer? Played well when he came on as sub but we should be aiming higher than that imo.

Get somebody in from abroad that we’ve never heard of but has an exotic name. That’s what I want!

(3rd one won't be credited as an assist as it was a saved shot).

Pigs have already signed a pre-contract agreement. His agent said he’s always wanted to be a right winger so he’ll fit in well.

Always has been, just blighted by injuries. This must be his best season in every sense.

Could we keep him fit...? I can't keep a straight face here...
 
Talks of him being made available because he’s only a year left on his contract and he’s turned down an extension, he’d be a good and very useful addition to this squad for a relatively cheap pick up!
