This is an embarrassing signing
Every other club has given up on him.
I was still running around the last time this clown had a good game.
We'll have Choudhury in next on his 45K a week
because despite discarding every fundamental of football he ever learnt in his career since his disastrous return 3 years ago
He's still fixated on everyone he was impressed by 10 ******* years ago.
Now I know ClownsOH aka Flywheel and Shyster, our squatting soon please God to be ejected so called owners are brain dead
but FFS after his disastrous invisible spell last season WHY would they OK this insanity?
Is it some sort of competition to destroy the club before Saudi49er comes back to sort out a talentless shambles after these imbeciles have totally destroyed us in the coming weeks

ps yes I know - we are passing the ball FORWARD this season
A vast improvement. But we still do not know who is driving this after three years of pointless dangerous possession aka The Chuckle Brothers tactics.
Just as well after the Mr McCawber one attacking outlet of Hamer Brooks etc re 'something will turn up' has been eliminated (FAR TOO CHEAPLY) by the imbecile.

What I have not learned aboutr Wilder is not worth knowing
All YOU need to know is that Wilder is the WORST EVER MANAGER BY A MILE
and is destroying this club.
Roll on the close of the window with only Burrows out for the £5 million price.
Sadly I fear far far worse.

Phillips was MILES of the pace at Cardiff - who were a mile behind Lincoln FFS last season
But cheer up
Choudhury CANNOT get a place in the team that has been relegated from the first, then the second and is on course for relegation again from the third
But he had a good game as a 16 year old in preseason against Wilder at Northampton

I've given you a like for a few bits of that. Wilder is not the worst manager ever !! He'll always be a blades legend but has just got left behind and can't seem to catch up with modern looking forward thinking athletic players comfortable on the ball.
Don't knock Phillips yet he's short on match fitness but "IF" we can get close to his best He'll be a cheat code this season. And if ollie gets back to normal a willing partner in the central 2 to do all the ugly stuff.
My biggest concern with Wilder he seems to always play guys who he's signed just to prove a point despite probably 75% of fans can see they're useless.
My criticism of this window is the lack of signings in the forward areas as we are desperately short of creativity.

I'd give him a like for the Jethro Tull link, but I'm a mean Beastie, so it's a Cheerio from me.

i can assure you we wont be paying 45k for choudray maybe 25k at most

Still can’t quite believe that given the position our club is in that Wilder has signed Phillips, an expensive (wages) unnecessary signing. He’s Jack Rodwell MKII

If we can keep this guy fit, eh?

There was one point in the second half where he just casually switched play with a raking pass from left to right, it made me sit up.

A lot is made of his combativeness but there’s a reason they call him the Yorkshire Pirlo.

Really great pass to lay on the winner too for Donovan.

He’s a leader too. Hope we can get lots of games out of him.

The tackle to win the ball was brilliant. Most players would have steamed into the 50-50 and hoofed it into the stand, but Phillips kept his composure to win the ball cleanly. To then look up, see the pass and execute it was outstanding.

Not a bad take and finish from Donovan too.

Gus who? Callum who?

I really like him but don’t think he was great tonight. Lots of niggly and unnecessary fouls. That’s the sort of game he should controlled and added calmness and composure to, like he did v Blackburn.
Fair play tho, he showed that bit of quality to find Donovan and at least tried to pass rather than aimlessly smacking it anywhere like the rest of them 2nd half.

A lot of people will focus on the pass for that goal, but there's a skill to tackling in such a way that you come out with the ball. Quality bit of midfield play.

He’s on a pay as you play and if you think we’re paying him his full wages during this then I don’t know what to say
Point to my post where I said that. If you don’t think he’s going to cost this club an arm and a leg every time he kicks a ball you are deluded.

Phillips showed what he was about in those last few minutes.

He's capable of some Norwood-like passing but is far more of a presence defensively.

Once he's up to starting games, it'll be him +1 in the midfield.

He got us 3 points last night, so glad wilder is in charge of the club and you’re not as we need someone who knows how to build squads!

He’s definitely a cut above when he’s on his game, he did however deliberately stand on their player when the ball had gone and the ref was looking directly at him. He also left his leg in a couple of times unnecessarily.

Good player, but there’s definitely some coaching on the mental side that he needs to benefit himself (and us).

Drove me potty first half that between our centre mids and centre backs not a single one of them had it in them to make a switch of play.

God I yearn for the Oli Norwood's and Jack O'Connell's of yesteryear

He's always been like that though, he was at Dirty L**ds for a reason.

I do think he was decent towards the end of the match last night.

He's played more than I was expecting tbh. Perhaps a case of needs must.

He's penciled in to start v Fleetwood isn't he?

I really hope he manages to play a good 30 games this season! Just watching him last night his class is still there that managed to get him into the England squad. If he can carry on this form Im very positive of our season to finish top half!
